Are there some vegetables you like raw, but not cooked or the other way around?

I am a fan of raw carrots, but not a big fan of them cooked. Oddly, I like broccoli cooked but not so much raw.I am making some sausage and veggies tonight, and was thinking I will cook the corn, but not the carrots. I want them raw.

I find some are more flavorful in their natural state.

I like raw turnips but can't eat them cooked. I also like raw spinach and can eat a few shreds in a stew but can't stand spinach cooked by itself.

Just a plateful of steamed spinach is pretty bad. I find it has to be in something to be good. Raw spinach is good in salads, or wraps.

@DaddyEvil When I was in the hospital as a kid they served some kind of tasteless beef and spinach. The only think I ate was raspberry sherbet. When the nurse saw that was all I ate she brought me another one.

@snowy22315 Mom boiled the spinach and we had to eat some of it with vinegar sprinkled on it. YUCKY! I like to just pick the spinach, make sure it isn't dirty or have a bug on it, and eat it that way.

I love broccoli cooked, but eating it raw isn't my favorite. Raw cauliflower, yes I love it both ways. I bought some corn on the cob, it was pretty good:)

I have corn on the cob now. It was 25 cents an ear for Memorial Day, and I had it just the week before that too.

@JimBo452020 I never had them like that, but I would try them that way. A carrot slaw is good, or a carrot with french dressing and raisin salad.

@snowy22315 Very interesting to hear that you hated tomatoes when you were a kid Perhaps you started to like tomatoes because of pizza?

@youless Honestly, I would eat them in a spaghetti sauce, but that was about it. I remember those as a teenager, having a BLT...(bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich) and really loving it. That might have been my first encounter with raw tomatoes. Actually though, I may have had a sub sandwich with tomatoes I liked before that.

Veggies are good, I don't love them though compared to other foods. I am not one to eat a plate of vegetables for a meal unless it is a salad, or I am at a restaurant hot bar or something.

I also like raw carrots. I also like them sliced and cooked with a little butter, but kept them very firm. I dislike when they are too soft.

I can't think of any veggies I like raw right now. Wait. Maybe snow peas. Avocado is considered a fruit, right?

Technically it is along with avocado. Did you know tomatoes were originally called love apples? Funny name, and seems to have little in common with an apple other than the color.

I tend to like broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots raw. The only exception with carrots is when I'm at the restaurant, Charleston's, which is a chain, but not a huge chain of restaurants. I don't know what they do to their carrots, but it is quite amazing.
