Today is pulmonary day. As if that wildfire smoke isn’t causing enough problems, they’re gonna pinch off my nose then tell me to “breathe normal.” Of course, I always want to say “normally, ya dip.” Never mind that, you’re here for a song that’s 40 years old now, and I’m happy to oblige! In a Big Country - Big Country Since I was obviously watching a different MTV than the rest of the world I’ll wait for the “never heard of it” comments. Big Country hailed from Scotland, and they’re still around, 40 years after their biggest hit. The last 22 have been without Stuart Adamson, the lead singer and co-writer of this song. He committed suicide in 2001. They did do other songs (“Fields of Fire” did get MTV airplay), honestly, but this is what they’re remembered for. And what a good song to be remembered for!
