Do you believe that life sucks? Why?

Do you believe that life sucks or do you believe that life is wonderful? Why do you say so? As for me, I believe that life is a combination of the two, sometimes, it sucks and sometimes it is wonderful. One cannot appreciate its wonder if one doesn't experience awful events too in his lifetime. What about you? What are your thoughts on this? The photo is mine.

I agree with you. Life is a roller coaster, sometimes is beautiful and sometimes it's a big mess. Lovely photo, is the baby your grand son?

Life is very unpredicatable, sometimes you are happy sometimes you are sad. We must enjoy our lives to the fullest. Because life is a gift from God. We must not waste our time and efforts to somethings that are worthless.

I agree with your perspective that life is a mixture of both, encompassing moments of both difficulty and beauty. Experiencing challenges allows us to appreciate the wonderful aspects and find growth through the ups and downs of life.

Sometimes life is filled with so much joy, it is indescribable. Other times, the anguish weighs so heavy we can barely stand. When I think about the times I feel like life sucks I feel guilty because I know so many people are fighting to live whilst battling deadly diseases. But even that can't always bring us out of our "life sucks" belief. I guess I know in my heart that while I feel a lot of sadness at times, in the end there is no substitute for the times we experience joy, and that in the end, life doesn't suck, because when it is over, it leads us to Heaven. And you've got a beautiful baby there!

To answer these types of questions, I usually ask myself the questions too. Why does life seem to be good sometimes, and bad the next? God is a force of good only, and so when we see bad, we are simply then not seeing God. See God in all things, and all things are good. What if I feel bad, and hate life though, seeing it as largely a waste of time? Life is a blend of experiences, and all of these are good, in the final outcome for you, and your life; seeing any of them as bad, just stops you from seeing the full benefit to you in that particular so-called bad experience.

Wow, it's like someone doused me with cold water. Come to think of it, you're right. It's a matter of perspective. If I view or perceive them as good then, they will be good. But what about if it's really bad such as murder or rape? How can you see that as good?

@Jenaisle I do not see murder, or rape as being good, but in the context of those bad things happening to someone, they can still try to recover from them, and still live a good life for themselves. In God's perspective a rape, or a murder, is not as bad as you think it is, because it occurs from a bad side, and from a not-so-bad side too. God allows bad things (which are bad) to happen, as bad things are a part of the freedom of choice (the not-so-bad side, but which can be bad, or good) granted to us to live either one way, or another, and yet it does nothing to take anything away from either God's goodness, or our own goodness, or the goodness of the world, it just adds badness from a person choosing bad, rather than choosing good. The good person affected by the bad though, is hard to explain, unless God is allowing that to happen, for reasons of his own, as he did with Job, in the Bible too.

@innertalks I had to read this twice because I find it difficult to connect the dots. But from what I understand. This can be represented by the quotation, "Life is 10% of what happened to you and 90% of how you react to it." Is this right?

@Jenaisle when you can't go out shopping for your favourite dish. They usually say "I couldn't find it" then damn, u come to realise that everybody is running against time - their side being favoured - because it sucks, considering their perspective, so they don't have time to attend to whatever is dragging u down. Aaaaah..no

Life is indeed a complex tapestry, woven with both moments of hardship and moments of joy. It's through experiencing the lows that we can truly appreciate the highs. Challenges and difficulties shape us, teaching us valuable lessons and helping us grow stronger. And amidst the struggles, there are beautiful moments that fill our hearts with happiness, love, and a sense of wonder

If i often think that other people's lives seems happier, but by thinking like that I won't be able to be happy with my life if I compare it to the lives of other people who are luckier than me So, always learning how to be grateful is the key to happiness. I am like you, Jena. Thank you for sharing. life is just like rollercoaster, up and down. And i read alot of myLotters say so. I believe we are all have our own sadness and happiness, life is what it is
