The technician came and went away.

He took away a device he had put before so that I could watch better. It hadn´t worked. Meanwhile, I had discovered that the remote of the TV was not working well (not the remote that the company provides). Mauricio (the technician) took a picture of it and said that he´d buy it. All this while we were eating an escalivada and drinking a cup of coffee. He said that I was to call him for whatever problem I had. No need to call the company unless he told me to. He is a Venezuelan and is here with his wife and 2 children. His mother is in Venezuela and although he makes vidoe calls, it is not the same. He says that it is not possible for him to return there to see his mother. These are part of the terrible things of people who seek refuge elsewhere. He loved the escalivada. He told me that I cooked like a Venezuelan and I took it as a compliment. I hope the TV works now. But I also hope that he finds and buys the remote I need. In part it is to see him. He is nice and it is like having a grandson coming to see me. I have been too lonely lately. I thank mylot more than what you can imagine.

I'm glad you found a technician you can trust that does good work. Nice of you to treat him to home cooking, I am sure he appreciates that. It sounds like he would love to see his mother, how sad that he can't do that. You are a good lady to be so sweet to him, Marga.

I pity and like the young immigrants when they work a lot to make ends meet. And I loath the ones who come to steal and kill. I wish immigration could be done well.

It's incredibly sad when people have to leave their homes and families because of political unrest. Hopefully you have someone kind who is also helpful.

Some people leave their homes because of political unrest and others because in their country there is famine. We have now many people from Haiti here. Most are good workers and they save part of their wages to send to their families in Haiti.

@JudyEv Venezuwlans have political problems. But other people come for money. The ones with more such problems are the people from Haiti.

@marguicha I think a lot of the Philippino people working in Australia send money home to their families too. I didn't know about the famine in Venezuela.

Mauricio is very good to you, he will get you a proper television remote. I'm glad he cares about your need, for proper equipment! And sharing a meal with him, he definitely enjoys this delicious food!
