I think I wrecked my trousers

I have a pair of light summer trousers which were quite presentable. I wore them a few days ago to go out somewhere or other. But then when I got back I needed to go and see what was going on in the ‘fruit jungle’ and I decided not to bother changing my clothes just for that.
Big mistake! I came back with some kind of dark brown splotches on one leg. I don’t know where they came from but they won’t come off.
I’ve put the trousers through the wash twice already and the spots are exactly the same. Yesterday I thought I would give them some more intensive treatment, so I dampened the leg and sprinkled on dry washing powder then just left it for a while. I thought, since it’s biological washing powder, that the enzymes might dissolve the stains which are surely some sort of natural substance.
How wrong I was! The stains are untouched; however the background colour of the fabric has changed from a pale fawn to a pinkish-white. It looks as though my trousers have developed vitiligo!
I guess they are going to be demoted and become my next pair of gardening trousers now.
At least I haven’t damaged a very expensive pair. I bought them from a charity shop several years ago in an emergency when my previous favourite pair of trousers totally fell apart while we were on holiday!

I use OxiClean and scrub it into the damp cloth before washing it to remove stains. When Pretty was a teenager, her mom bought her a pair of jeans that had ground in dirt stains. That was "in" at the time. I didn't know that and used OxiClean on them... It took the stains right out. (Of course, Pretty's mom accused me of "ruining" the pants on purpose.

Sorry about your trousers. Now you have an excuse to buy a new pair. Have a great day.

I read that WD40 works sometimes but as you have washed them a couple of times l am not sure it would work? Worth a try I guess!
