Solo Road Trip Today

Today is my get-out-of-the-house day. K is working remotely, so I don't have to worry about the dogs being let out at noon for their mid-day romp in the yard. In about 30 minutes, I'll be heading Downeast in the Beast to visit my mother and bring her lunch. I'll be stopping at SCNB on the way to pick up some barbeque, fried chicken, hush puppies, and Brunswick stew. SCNB is what Smithfield Chicken and Barbeque uses for their logo now. SCNB doesn't have a corporate app for ordering by phone. Their store in Wilmington, NC, does, but that doesn't help. I'll have to stop at the store in New Bern on my way to my mom's. What are you up to this Friday, 7/7?

I'll be going back to sleep in a little while. Until then, I'm doing notifications and responding to new, interesting-to-me discussions. I did sleep well from a little after 7 am until noon today before needing the bathroom. I hope you have a good trip and a good visit with your mom.

I’m going to take a couple of battery recharging packs for the cell phone to the recycling place after lunch. Is that “North Carolina style” BBQ? The one place I had NC-style had way too much mustard in the sauce. Won’t make that mistake again.

If there was mustard in the BBQ, it wasn't NC-style. Those people in SC ruin their BBQ by adding mustard. In NC, we have two styles. Eastern NC, the good kind, is vinegar based. Western NC, the almost as good kind, is tomato-based.
