How is everyone this fine Wednesday evening? I’m doing well, except I don’t really know what day it is. Blame being knocked out for an hour yesterday.
I’m finalizing plans to head to Ohio, and from there, who knows. I have a list of things I want to see, including (our Ohio residents will get a kick out of this) Gnadenhutten! As long as I don’t have to pronounce it I’ll be fine.
The photo today is the Cumberland River taken from the overlook at Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. In the park you can hike to a locale where three states — Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia — meet up. I wasn’t that adventurous when I was there last time.
Therefore, I just settled for admiring the foliage from the overlook.
At the other end of Kentucky, on the western side near the Mississippi River, they’re dealing with historic flooding. They were talking over a foot of rain.
The worst part is the town of Mayfield, one of the hardest hit by the December 2021 tornado, was impacted significantly by the flooding.
The weather is why I’m home and not reporting to you from the road right now. Severe weather is possible for here and Ohio on Thursday, and I’m just not enough of a daredevil anymore to deliberately drive toward severe weather.
Y’all have a great evening!

I watched Eric Wilhelm’s video on You Tube, and he said that it’s supposed to clear out Thursday night and be gorgeous over the weekend. He’s in Youngstown, but he said that’s pretty much for all of Ohio.

You should be getting the severe weather we had day before yesterday. I hope you don't get any damage from it. (We just ended up with more limbs down in our back yard. Easy enough to handle when I have time.)
Good luck with the storms. I'm glad you're staying home until the storms pass.

No, what you got yesterday went south of us and hit Nashville. It looks quiet on the radar in Missouri right now.

@FourWalls Yes, the state radar looks quiet. But we get weather that doesn't show up because we're higher in elevation. We have a 50% chance of rain here and the sky is completely cloudy.

Yep. I lived through the stupid things, thank God, so I’ll act like I gained a little wisdom from those days.

The latest forecast said it might miss us here, but that’s no good if you’re traveling. So I’ll wait until tomorrow.

I looked at the Storm Prediction Center map, they’ve moved Ohio into level 3. That means YOU be weather aware!

They’re having tornadoes and high winds in Ohio right now, but it’s in the northeastern area near Youngstown.

The Paducah TV station had a story about a church that lost its building in the tornado. They just moved into new facilities in February of this year…and it flooded.

I will do my best to enjoy my evening of rest before having a telephone conversation with a nurse for a hospital program that I volunteered for tomorrow morning.
