I used to real alot and enjoyed it so much. Since I haven't been able to find that great of movies recently I've been thinking of starting to read again. Either in audio or ebook form. Any advice on which to try? I am hoping I can keep my mind on it and that my mind doesn't go off and not let me concentrate. Ugh! It is rather frustrating.
I like books about unique and interesting characters with some fantasy or paranormal thrown in. Does anyone else like that type and do you have any advice on an author or title?

Do you like books written for a younger audience or for grownups? I like both types and can suggest a couple of good authors.
For lighthearted stuff, try reading the Magic of Xanth series by Piers Anthony. (It has a lot of puns, magical creatures and humans with magical powers.) For something geared to adults, try looking at Cassandra Clare's The Shadowhunter Chronicles. Both are excellent authors.

@celticeagle I didn’t like the Dome, but all his other books I’ve enjoyed reading.

I prefer reading from an honest to goodness book, none of this ebook stuff. I'm currently reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire. I read the first two chapters at the start of the month but put it down as it didn't immediately grab my interest. But I decided the other day to slog through a few more chapters until I get something more interesting.

I'm glad you are able to read an honest-to-goodness book. With my eye issues, I just can't. And not being able to concentrate doesn't help.

@celticeagle I wear corrective lenses... and when my regular glasses aren't good enough, I slap on a pair of dollar store readers over top of them.

@BarBaraPrz .......Funny story about the dollar store glasses. Have been wearing the dollar store glasses for several years. I thought I was upgrading to some I found that I could get with my OTC account and cost $4. I wore them for a while but started having an issue with them slipping down my nose when I am working at the computer. The nose grips couldn't be moved. So I had to go back to the dollar store ($1.25 each)So I find the cheaper ones won out over what I thought would be better glasses.

I still haven't gotten back to reading. Can't seem to concentrate. Have you read any Stephen King books? I like Robin Cook and Michael Crichton books. Good luck. Enjoy your day.

I can't either. If I do some reading it will be through ebooks or audio. I have most of Stephen Kinds books even his one on writing. Haven't read any of Cook's or Crichton's books. May look into them. I also enjoy some non-fiction.

I like to read the back of the book to see what the story is about. If I like the back cover says; I will get the book. You can also go to the public library and check out some of the books there.
