To Anyone Living in the Past: Who remembers this perfume ???

I wore this when I was in 7th-8th Grade.. and in high school too. All the girls did. Can’t say I’ve seen it around in the last couple decades. Then I saw they were selling it on Amazon, but it had mixed reviews. Some were saying it took them back to the old days and were having fun livin’ the dream again, but other ppl said it was NOT the authentic Baby Soft and it didn’t have that awesome flowery/baby powder scent they remembered from the past. So I didn’t wanna take a chance. Then I did a local search and saw that they had ONE bottle left at the Rite Aid right down the street from me. And sure enough, there it was sitting at the bottom, all by itself. Last one left. I was so happy to get it back. It’s funny how a certain smell can change… well, everything! I keep getting flashbacks of my best friend, homework, my first boyfriend, cheerleading, all that good stuff. Have you ever bought something old, brand new? I highly-recommend.

@MarieCoyle I enlarged the photo and I see that it's a Cologne. I use a Cologne, the original Kölnisch Wasser 4711.

Anna, it's honestly not a real perfume, it's a spray cologne.

@LadyDuck Oddly, in the current times we live in, many younger people do not know there is a difference between cologne and perfume. Add in what is marketed as ''body spray'' and then you have the 3. I think body spray is mostly used by teens and young adults. I was brought up to know the difference but I don't think everyone does anymore, at least not in the US.

This is not a product I remember at all. Maybe it was not popular here in the south where I live?

@MarieCoyle None of those ring a bell. So I’m either too young to remember them, or too old and suffering from Alzheimer’s. Lol

Jeff, you might not be ''old enough'' to remember it! The era of Sun In, the hair lightener activated by the sun? White lip gloss? Heaven Scent?

@moffittjc No doubt too young..or else your head was in the clouds, but hey, they were all very popular! Girls would buy that Sun-In stuff, which was in a little spray bottle. I think it was mostly lemon juice and water, but it did work to lighten hair while the wearer was basking in the hot sun. However, it had a huge drawback of making many people'ss hair turn orange, and I do mean a bright orange. I never used it. As a redhead, who knows, with that product I may have had pink hair, or rainbow hair...nah...not for me.

That is so sweet. I have never heard of that perfume before. As a preteen, and then teen, everyone around here wore the fragrance, Charlie, which I haven’t thought about in decades. The only teen who never wore it was my sister, because she said it smelled like urine on her. And odd thing for her to say, and I don’t think she was right. Now, I’m all curious and want to buy your childhood perfume just to try the fragrance.

@MarieCoyle I remember getting my mom something from The Vermont Country Store. It was a food item she hadn’t seen since her childhood. Thank you for pointing that place out, Marie!

There is an old nostalgic mail-order place, called The Vermont Country Store. My sister loved the Love's Baby Soft and would order a bottle for herself and for me sometimes from them. They have a lot of older fragrances available, and different items to bring back memories! The only time I ever see any Love's Baby Soft is Christmas.

@AmbiePam I had sort of forgotten that sister bought it from there. Then my daughter did a time or two. Oh, a good trip down memory lane!

No, thank goodness, I don't remember that. Maybe it wasn't a "thing" where I went to school. While you were looking at the perfume on Amazon, did you notice that they offer the same perfume with specific scents for the 1970s and the 1980s? The formulation changed. And changed again for the scent that is popular in some schools today.

I just remember that it smelled like baby powder with just a hint of flowers, but not too much. Some people were saying theirs smelled like lemon. I like the smell of lemon... but for cleaning my floors. Ooh lemon + Clorox bleach makes it smell like hotel room

@Melanie_Marie Yeah, lemon is the scent for dish soap for me. I prefer unscented cleaning supplies, normally. Mom always had lemon scented cleaning supplies.

I remember that Skinny Dip was popular when I was in Junior High. It was a lemony scent. I don’t think I’d like it now.

Sister and I loved Love's Baby Soft. It had such a wonderful smell. My daughter found a store in New England that had it online, I think they still do. A few years ago she bought 3 small bottles, one for me, for her, and for her sister. I truly enjoyed mine...all gone now!
