I have not been out much after dark this year, but I have felt like the fireflies/Lightning bugs have been missing. I have not noticed them.
I was on the phone when Bob got the cats in and went to bed. He shut off all the lights, etc. On my way to bed I stopped in the dark living room and saw a strange sight.
Evidently a lightning bug had come in with the cats.
She flew around and kept trying to get tangled in the ceiling fan. Finally landed somewhere. It was a strange and beautiful sight to see her flitting through, like Tinkerbell. The effect was magnified due to having a mirror on the wall.

The last time I saw lightning bugs was when I was a child visiting my grandma's house, but now they are rarely seen.

We see them occasionally out in the front yard. Enjoy your day.

I’m with you, I haven’t been outside in the evening this year. My sinuses are telling me to keep them indoors!

I haven't thought about it much, but I don't think there are as many lighting bugs as in years past.

I'm not out after dark, either, and have no idea if lightning bugs hang around in our yard.
Pretty and I have been watching a clutch of baby rabbits playing in our back yard for the last week or a little longer. They're about the size of my closed fist. One was trying to hide behind a blade of grass when we left the house a few days ago. Pretty stopped and called me over to see him... He stayed perfectly still until we got out of the driveway and then he bolted for the back yard.

Flying around like Tinkerbell is a great description of that firefly in the house. We have lots of fireflies here and I miss the days when my kids would catch them
