Waken up by mosquitoes again...

I have been sleeping quite well throughout the whole night lately, until a day, a mosquito sneaked into my bedroom.... Sometimes I could just ignore it, and just fell back to sleep even being wakening up by it. Sometimes the bites were just too itchy and I couldn't fall alseep again, though I was still sleepy. I understand the little mosquito needs to survive, but why can't it just bite properly, only one spot and take the sufficient blood? I suppose it's still a young mosquito and learning how to take the blood and hence I always have several itchy bumps. When will the little mosquito go back to sleep? When can I go back to sleep? I wish everyone is doing well and not distubed by anyone or anything.

Yes, that's annoying. I used to just turn on the light and try to catch them in the middle of the night. That's tiring. I just searched, the average adult female mosquito can live up to 42-56 days, that means if I couldn't catch it, I might not have good sleep these two months, or another mosquito might sneak in too.....

@kaka135 Right - once you turn on the light, that's it - your sleep is completely disrupted! They just fly away and hide so quickly . I saw one in the laundry room the other day. It was flying in a place where I could not reach, so I opened the door that leads outside . . . I could not see if it actually left or not . . . and maybe it was still inside but hiding. It bugs me and I get itchy thinking about it .

@much2say A friend shared with me the other day, he "communicated" with the mosquitoes and ants and "asked" them to move away, and found that there were really much lesser bugs in his house. That's amazing, though I don't know if it works for me.

They are nasty aren't they? I hate the itchy bumps. Maybe you need to put up some netting to keep them out.

Luckily some itchy bumps go off quite soon, some may last a few days. It's just that with the itchiness, it's hard to fall asleep. I think mosquito nets help. We had that one time, but with the net, we feel hot in the bedroom as not much fresh air coming in from the window.

I hope it doesn't carry with it a deadly disease.

Luckily it didn't. But here the Dengue fever is quite common, hopefully the mosquitoes that carry the virus don't come near us....

You can stop the itch from a mosquito bite by wiping the area with apple cider vinegar. (I don't know if white vinegar works to kill the itch.) Thankfully, mosquitos don't come into our house. But they will bite if we're out in the yard. I slept well this morning until a friend with a problem called and woke me up.

Did you put on any mosquito nets so they don't enter your house? Or have you used a spell to make them stay away? I will try the apple cider vinegar. Sometimes I apply Lavender essential oil, but once I got up, it took me some time to fall back to sleep.

@kaka135 Most houses in the US have screens over our windows and doors to keep insects out. The holes in the screens are small enough that mosquitoes can't come in but some tiny, tiny bugs still can. If something wakes me up, I can usually go right back to sleep in a few minutes as long as I'm not moving around after I wake up.

I think I'd be getting up and spraying the room. Then, if the mosquito is a young one, he could start learning how to dodge the spray! lol

I couldn't stand the smell of the spray, hence I don't like to use it. Mosquitoes seem to learn very fast, no matter what natural repellent methods I use, they seem to still not afraid of them.

I am sorry to learn about your mosquito problem. I am doing well today after my meeting on the phone with my health doctor this afternoon via phone.
