Our Time of Quiet Solitude has Ended

It's Friday night and the campground has been filling up all afternoon. We have neighbors all around us now, camping in everything from tents to tag-a-longs to motorhomes. The peace and quiet we've enjoyed for the past several days is over. Tomorrow the lake will be busy with boats. I plan to fill the leaky chamber and try to get a little paddling in first thing. I'll keep to the two coves on either side of the peninsula we're on. One more full day in camp, one more night, and then it's back to our home that doesn't have wheels. Do you have any big plans for this weekend?

Are those the weekend tourists coming there? This is going to be a very long weekend. Tuesday is a holiday (Assumption of Mary), most people took a leave for Monday and they are enjoying a 4 days weekend. We stay home.

@DWDavis - The traffic is not too bad here today, but the next Tuesday I know it will be horrible. Those who come back from the summer holidays.

We spent most of today (Saturday) at an endurance ride. I've never seen those little shelters. Does the local shire/council provide them?

It was good while it lasted. My parents met some of their lifelong friends at campgrounds. Strangers in adjacent plots becoming life long friends.

We do have many camping friends. Most of them have been here all or part of this week. We all had dinner together last night and tonight and will again tomorrow night. We camp together once a month except for February and March.
