A Walk in the Park

Although I’m home, yesterday I took a nice vacation. A walk in the park, you could say!
As in, Central Park.
There’s a video on You Tube that’s nearly four hours long that covers a walk through the iconic park. The video screen grab is from it, and the link is at the bottom.
Why watch a four-hour walk through Central Park? Heck, I’d walk it if I could! But I can’t (primarily because I’m not in New York City
). The video is also filled with very informative captions.
For instance, I didn’t know that Central Park is only the fifth biggest park in New York City. The Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx is the largest. I watched a short (30-minute) walk through that, and there’s no comparison: Pelham Bay looks like a forgotten, abandoned place. That’s sad for the “biggest park” in the city.
I did know that the great Frederick Law Olmsted helped design Central Park. We had a number of parks here in Louisville that he designed as well.
No, I didn’t watch it all last night (got interested in the baseball scores). But I did enjoy the walk that I did watch.
In fact, I think I’ll resume that walk in the park this evening.

Did the tour also show muggings in Central Park?

@FourWalls He is very interesting.
The first video of his we watched was of a man named Titus who didn't have any legal identity living mostly off the grid.

@wolfgirl569 — I know exactly what you mean. Being in Lucille Ball’s hometown (which is closer to Buffalo) was too close to NYC for me.

I have been in Central Park umpteen times and always found something new. I love the lake, the zoo, and always have to visit the Alice in Wonderland statue.

That's intriguing and safe. I watched an old TV show the other night that gave me the shudders about big city life. Tons too many people sharing a sidewalk space for me. The movie featured a Mother who dearly loved her son. TOO many people! Just that quick somebody sprayed crud in her face and just that quick, the boy was kidnapped.

It was daytime, and Sunday. The muggers might have had the day off.

He stops and doubles back a few times to get views of the skyline and some of the sites in the park.

@FourWalls The park is big, but 4 hours is a lot of time to spend there.

We watched a video of the drive from Key Largo to Key West. What was that zoo again that you mentioned? I should have written it down. Enjoy your day.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm?
Love those drives through the Keys. I can watch those and Pacific Coast Highway videos all day.
