Mental Health Awareness..

West Haven, Connecticut
August 18, 2023 7:15am CST
A lot of us go through our day to day lives without giving much thought to if were okay, or simply too busy to worrying about everyone but ourselves. Sometimes its important to meditate or simply disconnect from the world for a few hours and focus on yourself. I dedicated 2-3 hours every weekend to my mental health by doing something different, last weekend I took my puppy to the dog park and I had no idea how much I needed that. Life is short, and being on GO Mode 24/7 can be draining and end up missing out on the little things in life. Wishing you all a great Friday, dont forget to take time and ask yourself if your happy and do something nice for yourself this weekend, YOU DESERVE IT!!

You are so right, the brain consumes a lot of energy and we need to take a break and rest.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX We often push too much, we should find the time to disconnect.

I walk my dog every day after work. As I work from home these days I find it acts as a buffer between my work day and my personal time a bit like my commute used to. It helps that I have some nice hills and woodland to walk in too.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX It's been proven that getting out into green spaces has a positive effect on mental health.

Yes, it is a great thing to be able to disconnect. I tend to like the days I am offline. I should do it once a week.

You are so right life being on the go all the time can be very tasking. It actually messes with our hormones and makes us produce more cortisol in our body.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX Definitely! The body can cope but it asks you interest of your abuses when you're older.

You made a good point and I know many of us get caught up in the everyday rat race and don't even think about taking a break for ourselves. Taking your dog to the dog park was a good idea for you and the dog. It's a good reminder that we need to take care of our mental health

That is a good idea, and spending time with our dog outside is a great way to give our mental health a break.
