My neighbor left me a free ticket to the Fair, so I’ll go get a pineapple whip in memory of my dad today. Before I leave here’s today’s song that was on the Clear Channel Memorandum of songs they thought weren’t appropriate for airplay after 9/11. And waddaya know, I actually understand this one! Travelin’ Band - Creedence Clearwater Revival The opening line to this song is “737 comin’ out of the sky.” Yeah, that’ll do it. This is one of CCR’s great classics, a no-holds-barred rocker that starts and just doesn’t quit until the very end. Short and to the point, detailing life in a rock and roll band or traveling life in general (“baggage gone, oh well”). What a terrific song. Travelin’ Band Written by John C. Fogerty Recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival From Cosmo’s Factory, 1970 Listen to the radio talkin’ ‘bout the last show:

@LindaOHio — yep. Went to the corner food truck that’s been there every year for as long as I can remember. That’s the one Dad always made a beeline for, so that’s the one I go to.

Oh, you’re just funning me now. I think you need to stay away from the pool, because the sun is just playing tricks with your mind.

Love the song. I still think people are quite capable of making up their minds on what songs offend them for whatever reason. A company shouldn't make their mind up for them. The song released 31 years before Sept 11 shouldn't get it banned. It had nothing to do with that event. I digress.

You just can’t tell what people want to gripe about, though. I remember when the Challenger disaster happened. After all the news coverage networks went back to “regular programming.” On Moonlighting there was a scene where a car blew up….and ABC got complaints for airing it, saying it was in poor taste on the day the Challenger exploded.

One of my favorite tunes by CCR. Offensive 737 airplane and all, lol.

I find going down to Memphis a little more offensive these days.

It’s definitely one of the more understandable reasons on the list, that’s for sure.

What a magic song but yes, you can understand why they didn't really want it played.
