Do you believe in Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster?

As a kid, I was fascinated by UFOs, or flying saucers. I even read a few books on the subject before I hit my teen years. I've grown a bit more cynical, or practical, in my dotage, but old interests die hard. Of course, I was always interested in Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, as well. Could there really be primitive sea creatures trapped in the Loch? Or is it just another fun story to keep our eyes wide? Apparently there have been couple of "sightings" recently, and a photo or two taken. Something's not quite right with this article. I'd better read it again. The photo attributed to the 12-year-old girl looks suspiciously like the one we have all seen for decades. (Edit: Nope, it's a different photo. But I'd think a modern cell phone photo would be clearer.) But the other photo is more compelling. If the first "sighting" of Nessie was before 600 AD, by a missionary, then it stands to reason that the current Nessie is a great-great-grandson of the original. Or something. Do you believe Nessie exists? Do you believe that space aliens have visited Earth? More fun to argue about than politics.
A girl has claimed to have spotted the Loch Ness monster in the same week other newly released photographs were taken allegedly showing the legendary beast.

I do believe in Nessie. I don’t believe it’s a monster. Just a water creature that is near extinct. If I’m remembering correctly other lakes throughout the world have had sightings of the same sort of creatures. I’d need to look lakes up.

It would be interesting if there are primitive creatures living in our lakes that we don't know about.

I don’t believe in the Loch Ness monster, nor that aliens have visited earth. I hate to make assumptions (believe it or not), but I have a hard time believing you would either.

Even as a wide-eyed kid, I grew suspicious when some of books started suggesting that UFO people helped the Egyptians make the pyramids.

More and more over the years, I tend to wonder. When I was younger I marveled at the concept but now not so much. There is an explanation for sure I am just not sure what it is.

I saw this same story about Nessie. I want to believe, but need more compelling proof. I don't believe aliens have visited Earth. Nor do I believe we'll ever visit habitable planets circling other stars. The obstacles presented by the laws of physics are too great to overcome.

Call me cynical but I hardly think it's a coincidence that there have been a couple of fresh 'sightings' of Nessie just as the newly re-vamped Loch Ness Centre has opened.

I am also interested in these stuffs. I ever watched a documentary about Nessie. It is said that they set up lotf of cams there but nothing found yet. Besides, they scanned the lake and they also haven't found something odd. Besides, the fish are not enough to feed Nessie since it is so giant. OK, they just want to say Nessie doesn't exist. I have a doubt. Perhaps there is a "path" under the lake and they can go to somewhere else. I even think we can see UFO real soon.

NO, I do not believe at all that Nessie exists, but it's a great attraction, so tourists go there to see if they can spot him. They will find a way to create a fake video and show that the monster exists.

I'm waiting for the high-tech gear to "find" Nessie... I believe that we aren't the only beings in our galaxy but not necessarily that any others have ever been to Earth.

@TheHorse I'm sure they have. I'm sure I told you the story of Pretty and I chasing a UFO years ago... of course we couldn't/didn't catch it but it was fun trying. (We'd been on our way to the lake for a night swim when we saw something glowing above and to the left of our car. We followed it South for ten miles and then East for twenty before is suddenly sped up and left us behind.)

I think there is a Nessie a sort of dragon-like creature that lives in a cave under the water but I do not believe it is a monster,

I did a posting about this recently. They had a 2-day event in which several hundred people, both in person and watching webcams, watched for Nessie. They had high-tech equipment to listen and watch for her/him. I know Nessie doesn't exist; but I"m a Nessie junkie and really want to believe that there's something down in that deep, deep Loch. I wish I could go there and watch for Nessie and buy souvenirs. Have a great holiday weekend.

I don't believe in Nessie, but I do believe aliens have visited the earth. Just recently a ranking air force officer a UFO investigator said they have discovered remains. Much more likely to be aliens than Bigfoot. I don't believe in Bigfoot!

As a kid, Nessie (Big Foot, UFOs, all that) was SO intriguing. Still is ! At this point, I WANT to believe these mysteries of the earth . . . gives me some kind of strange hope about the realities of life . How dare we humans are so pompous to think we know it all!
