Laboring on Labor Day

Hello Everyone and Happy Labor Day if you live in the US.
My husband is retired and I sell on eBay part-time, on my own schedule, so for us, every day is sort of a holiday. :0)
But I am actually "laboring" on Labor Day today. I am trying to keep a house-cleaning schedule so today is Monday and on Mondays, I clean the whole kitchen including washing the floor, and I clean the guest bathroom, so I will be doing those things today so I don't get off schedule.
Are you doing anything special today for Labor Day?

I am sorry, that doesn't sound like a fun day, but definitely things that need to get done. At least by the end of the day I hope you felt as though you accomplished something.

I would have liked for it to be a regular day here too, but my husband always likes to have a picnic, even if it's just the 2 of us on the 3 day holiday weekends in the summer, like Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. So if we don't go to a picnic, we have one of our own.

If I cleaned only when I was in the mood, I would never do any cleaning! Ha ha, I hate to clean. But at least I don't have to do it all at once if I have a schedule.

My husband used to always do the cleaning every Saturday morning and wanted me to help him. I hated that, especially when I was working because I started to dread Saturday mornings. Then we divided chores and I do mine 2 days per week, and I am very happy with that. I give myself all day to get those things done and it's nice. My hubby is getting older now so he doesn't really do any of the chores anymore so we may have to hire someone to come in say once a month and do the things I don't notice need to be done. I am not a good cleaner so there's a lot I don't notice. Oh, and maybe that someone can vacuum...I hate to do that!

Nothing special, but we kept the exercise class for today since most of us weren't going anywhere. It helps keep the days in order. Though, I don't think the garbage people will be here today. They might surprise me. They did it on one other holiday.

I did my Christmas list that I gave to my cousin and my great-aunt. I do Christmas lists and birthday lists and give them to my mother and my great-aunt. Now I give one to my cousin too. I also went over to my great-aunt's house for a family get-together.
