Fair Game

Scientology bugs me almost as much as Trump does. After Danny Masterson got sentenced the three Jane Doe's got to read their impact statements. How his abuse is still affecting them. Their statements were powerful. The sad thing is that his actions were not the only thing that affected their lives. You see Scientology does not allow members to report any offenses to the authorities. These women were Scientologists and in the teachings, it says that if something like this happens it is their own fault and it is taken care of in Scientology. Yes, that's right. If a woman is raped it is probably because of something that woman did in her past. The offender is guilty of very little and may have to do some auditing but not much. The three Jane Doe's were harassed, embarrassed on social media, threatened, etc. This is called 'fair game'. They were found to be suppressive people because they had the nerve to report Masterson for raping them. They were not supposed to report such things outside of the church. Scientology cares about those who bring money into the church and the Masterson family brought a lot of that. So they were protected until a few months ago that is. Members who leave the church unannounced (called "blowing") are called Suppressive Persons" and are open to 'fair game'. The church will find out what the SP dislikes and try to bring it into their lives full bore. They find out what the SP loves and take as much of that away as possible. They have been known to contact the SP's work and tell lies trying to get them fired. Or, they will start negative rumors about them so other members won't listen to them. Anything they can do to make their lives miserable. They try hard to get members to come back or the fair game activities don't stop. Can you imagine? And, ex-members are sent a bill for the auditing they have had and these are called "freeloader bills". The idiocy goes on and on. What has happened to these three women is incomprehensible in my book.

What a nightmare for these victims - it goes beyond what Masterson did to them. Why is Scientology allowed to continue on . . . it's all so wrong on so many levels!!!

It sure is. I don't understand why the FBI or some other place can't do something. They need proof and that always takes time.

@celticeagle I would think there's plenty of proof out there already to show how terrible Scientology is . . . I don't understand why they can't be shut down.

@much2say .......I personally think they have bought the police in so many areas they don't charge Scientologists with anything. LA is one that they have. Not sure of other areas.

I watch SPtv on YouTube. People who are ex-Scientologists trying to help people that are still in get out.

@celticeagle You’d think people wouldn’t get themselves in such situations.

@RubyHawk .......I know but in many cases, it is where the families have been in this cult for generations. Scientology has been going on since the 50s.

Some true craziness and abuse. I know my dad at one time would listed to L. Ron Hubbard on television. He did not buy into it, though. So many people do.

Yes, and David Miscavige needs to be brought to justice. He's hiding out like the coward he is.

@celticeagle Some people really get their kicks from hurting others and dream up all sorts of justification for it. It takes a brave person to stand up to them.
