30 days is not enough punishment for waterboarding a baby!

I read this and nearly had a heart attack.
This woman waterboarded her baby and put it in the freezer. Her explanation to the police was crazy, to quote what was said:
''While the officer was taking McDonald to jail, she said that her actions were done as a "test" to see if Neal "gave a f--k at all," adding she waterboarded her baby to try and make Neal come back to her apartment. She allegedly admitted her actions were done "out of spite."
She got 30 days. She still has to go to court, but 30 days??? Would you feel comfortable about this horrid excuse for a human being running around? This is just wrong in every possible way.

Oh my gosh, that is TERRIBLE and I hope the Department of Children and Youth Services takes that baby away from that mother. She obviously has no feelings for that child and will probably end up killing him if she gets that baby back. As a former DCF social worker, my strong opinion is to never let that mother have unsupervised visits with that baby. How awful.

I know this will not be a popular thing to say, but I feel when someone does something terrible to a baby or child they should be permanently sterilized and never get to have any more children. Not ever.

There has to be something seriously wrong with a person who does this. I agree, she needs a mental evaluation.

@MarieCoyle I do agree with that. She needs help for being like this.

Yes, but when you are as mentally messed up as she appears to be, would it even help? I don't think it would.

@Shavkat
Help needed for sure, but since she already has a violent incident in her past on record, I think I would be looking long and hard before letting her be around anyone, especially a baby.

Or just throw away the key. I would be tempted. Sometimes people do something so horrible, like this, that it ruins their lives and others.

@MarieCoyle She did something horrible and she needs to be closed in an institute when she gets out of jail.

Yes, you are right, Anna. She can never be trusted.

I can't believe they let her out until her court date, Anna.

30 days is a slap on the wrist for mistreating an innocent child like that.

I worry now that they will let her be around that baby. Surely not, but then again...30 days??

@MarieCoyle That is my concern as well that the abusive mom will return to rub out her child.

George, some of these stories about people abusing or neglecting others, or animals/pets, are just more than I can stand.

This is just so horrific...to think that someone can do something like this is simply unbelievable.

I don't honestly see how any amount of mental help the woman could get would ever make a difference when they have done something like this to a baby. Who in the world would ever trust her for anything in life at all?

That's so absurd that she should be committed to a mental institution.

I just don't find her actions forgivable, whether or not she is mentally competent is not even the issue. Hopefully she will be found guilty and proper actions will be taken, but the fact that she is out until court is extremely concerning for all.

@MarieCoyle I assume she's already had her tubes tied. What's next?

I have no idea. Let's just hope she never has access to that baby again, and that she never has another child.

Yes, of course she needs to be evaluated. Some of it just sounds like she is trying to get the babydaddy to pay attention to HER. She doesn't obviously care about the baby at all. Breaks my heart.

Did the baby survive? This woman should be punished to the full extent of the law.

As far as I can tell from what I have read and hunted for, yes. I wonder about brain damage since obviously the poor baby had to be deprived of oxygen while being waterboarded.

She sounds nice: "McDonald was previously convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Texas in 2016."
30 days is a joke sentence. Hopefully the child is now somewhere safe and far away from her. Any sensible judge would have locked her up for years.

Letting her out until court should never have happened. No one is safe from a person as off the wall as she is.
