Come on y'all, it is supposed to be fall

Two weeks from now is our average first frost date, but summer has returned. We are having weather suitable for late June. This is good in a way because I still have plants outdoors.
All week we will have weather in the mid nineties, F.
I suppose when it actually hits, it will be sudden, though.
As a child I remember when the first frost was due Mom would have us go out and cut all the blooming chrysanthemums so that the blooms would not be ruined. We would fill the house with flowers.
I wish I had some blooming mums. They are the best fall flower ever, unless you count my lantana that still is blooming away.

@GardenGerty I do too..I have to here Heather even if it is fairly cool outside..the apartment sits right next to the immense hot water boiler for the whole building so it gets 1000F in here..its good for the winter but not for the summer.

My friend gave me a plant with buds and I debated whether I should take it to the house-sit in case I missed out on the blooms. I didn't take it with me and it bloomed while I was away but it's still blooming and looking really pretty. It looks like it will flower for a long time yet.

That is always fun. Was it a chrysanthemum?

@GardenGerty No, I'm not sure what it is. Some sort of succulent I think.

My mums haven't started blooming yet... they've budded out though.
I've brought in most of my house plants but still have geraniums and a spider plant to come in.
I'd love it to get to the mid-90s here. Today's high is predicted to be 22°C/72°F... but that big old tree in the back tends to lower the temp about 10 degrees.

Yes, trees do provide for cooler spots. That is what I miss about the tree that fell.

@GardenGerty Did you plant another one? I know it would be a while for a new tree to do the job of the old one. As the saying goes, "The best time to plant tree was thirty years ago. The next best time is now."

That should be us in Southern CA. It's normally still quite here through October, but from today I think we're supposed to have a big cool down. Well we've had cooler days and some very warm days lately, but not like summer . . . and to me that's very strange to actually have fall weather right now.

Our forecast for this next week shows temps in the mid to high 80s... definitely not Fall weather.
I hope you have a good day at work.

It was okay. My primary student was sent home sick yesterday and we insisted they keep him out for the day.

It's going to be warm here too next week. I enjoy it when it's 65-75. We've had quite a bit of that kind of weather fortunately. It will be in the mid 80s next week. Have a good weekend.
