As most of you know, there is a war in Israel right now. I won’t get into the politics of it, because this is a personal post.
We have a couple of myLotters in Israel. I have heard from one, @Hannihar (Hanni Harel). She was not initially aware of what had happened (which is understandable because a lot of things shut down in Israel on the Sabbath, and people don’t watch TV or listen to the radio). She said that she is safe, and is looking for a shelter she can run to with her cat should the need arise.
I pray for her safety as well as the safety of all the “innocent” and “civilians” in this mess. It’d be nice if the politicians or leaders who start these things would go into a room and fight amongst themselves and leave the populace out of it.

I wept over the 250+ killed at a music festival. Those people weren’t political or “the cause”, they were there to have a good time.

Thank you for what you said and yes it is very devastating. We are targeted because we are Jews and our enemies go to war instead of living with what they have. They are not happy so they want to make us miserable. They always seem to find a way to try and ruin our Holidays but they cannot. Yes, it was a massacure. I am pissed that so many had to be called up because of this and that they are probably torturing the hostages as we speak and murdering them too. There are families, women and children and elderly. The videos are very hard to watch. I watched one and will never forget it. My heart goes out to them and their families and to our soldiers and all of us civilians who are brave.

I am ok and thank you Vicki because no one here can be safe. We are ok and hanging in there. I wanted to go to town today but since Jerusalem was brought into it I want to stay put with my cat and hope that we make it through it.

Thank you for the update, I was very concerned about Hanni, I am glad she is safe.
I am trying to contact friends who live in Israel, I hope to arrive to join them today.
We should close the politicians inside a large room and let them fight among them if they really want to fight, but let the populace of out of it.

thank you and others for your concern during this horrible time we are dealing with in our country. We are in the 2nd week of the war. I was outside when the first siren went off in Jerusalem and was walking towards home and made it and found my cat underneath a chair. There was another siren the same day and I did find a place and could watch my cat at the same time and there were explositions but they wee far.

this is not new to us. We have been dealing with enemies for thousands of years. When Israel bcame a State in 1948 we were given a little sliver of land and they were given a lot and we took ours and instead of them taking theirs they went to war with us and have been at war with us ever since. We were caught off guard because it was the end of the Jewish Holiday and they like in 1973 decided to attack us. Many have been called up to fight our enemies and before their hands were tied so could not destroy them but I hope this time they destroy them.

It is hard for most people to understand our situation here. We are surrounded by many enemies and they have gone to war with us but they do not understand that we have a might G-d on our side to make sure we are ok and an amazing Army that protects not only the citizens here but their families as well.

Gut wrenching, heartbreaking, and just beyond horrible. They kidnapped anyone--even elderly, babies, and disabled people. Like those people are any threat to anyone.

No, I am not active here lately. We have had a lot of Jewish Holidays this time of year and that is when our enemies decided to do what they do to us.They do not want us to enjoy our Holidays. They not only strike other times but on our Holidays as well. I think I did write you back but if I did not I am sorry. I appreciate your caring about what is going on with us here.

In all do respect Israel is an amazing nation what they have to do to protect that place. While I do not care for how they do it sometimes that place has every bit of respect from me and how everyone has to serve in military. I do wonder because bet many met palestinian people and have to say this is pretty silly. Who are we fighting?, its not those people its bad leaders like Iran and all that.
I am glad she is safe, hope world will be safe because mad people not stopping. They clearly see a weakness in all of our game.

in the meantime I am ok and so is my cat. I live in Jerusalem and heard two sirens go off today and after they finished I heard explosions in the background and just heard one now at 10:25 pm our time and really do not want to go to sleep. We have a great Army but they have had to go back in and out of Gaza many times and this time I hope they flatten in and the enemies within.

Horrific news, and I’m thousands of miles from it. I can’t imagine how slaughtering nearly 300 people at a music festival is supposed to make the world sympathetic to one’s cause.

@FourWalls Hamas and the organization it is part of don't care what the world thinks. Their goal is to convert people to Islam, by force if necessary, and kill anyone who doesn't convert.

I also hope that we can get our hostages back home and those that lost someone can mourn them in their own homes. I am ok and hope to stay that way and hope my cat and I will both be ok and yes, Hamas is part of it and Iran is also part of it and Lebanon and Hezbollah are also part of it.

thank you for wondering about me. Right now my cat and I are ok. Who knows how long this war will be but our Army is going in there and getting rid of things. I hope they get it all and get the hotages out and they are safe too and do not become hostages or murdered. This is the 2nd week of it and there are places closed and places open. There are lots in the Army. They called up a lot to go fight.

It’d be nice if that would happen. But as John Fogerty (who was in the Army Reserve during Vietnam) said in “Fortunate Son,” we ain’t no senator’s son. They’ll protect themselves and their families but tough luck to you and me.

Hi this is Hanni speaking and we have been at war for thousands of years with our enemies. We make things grow and bloom and want to live our lives in peace and quiet but our enemies do not want that. They simply do not want this country or us here because we are Jews.

I am just ok because the situation has come to Jerusalem where I live and not very happy with any of it and so many were called up and I just want them to come home safe and sound and for all the hostages to be freed and the citizens of this beautiful country be freed too.

That would be nice but is not true about our history here in the Middle East. We are surrounded by enemies that do not like Jews or Israel and want us gone so go to war with us instead of wanting peace. We have given them land and plenty but they do not want peace and never did. They choose war instead.
