11 October - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from a pleasantly cool Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA.
It's been a good day for throwing plans out the window.
I'm thankful I'm retired and not subject to a rigid schedule. Today was one of those days when a schedule wouldn't have worked.
I'm thankful for my friend down the hall. She took her car to get fixed this morning and I picked her up. I'm still waiting for her call saying the car is ready, or her dog is ready. She took him to the groomer before she took the car to the mechanic.
I'm thankful she took me to breakfast right after I picked her up. It was a wonderful treat. I haven't needed to eat since. I had a gyro omelet and hashed browns. 
I'm thankful for the exercise class before I picked her up this morning. I got five miles on the bike. It was a hard-fought five miles. My left knee is painful today.
I'm thankful for the Bible study this afternoon. We're studying the Tabernacle. It's a wonderful study.
I'm thankful for my friend who spent time with me after the Bible study. It was something I really needed. Someone to talk to.
Okay, that's my day. Another day without work on my book. It can wait until tomorrow. I have prayer in an hour and a half in the community room.

What a beautiful tree!
One of the things I have always been thankful for is that I have and/or had jobs that allow me flexibility, especially when my kids were growing up. I made it clear to my employers that my family comes first, and thankfully I never had to compromise on that.

It is wonderful to hear you had someone to talk to when you needed it.
I guess I am thankful my neighbors quit yelling? They continued their fight outside the apartment, into the area behind my building. It lasted a total of five hours, off and on throughout the day. Some of what I heard them screaming really confused me, but thank goodness it appears to be over.

I'm thankful for a good day despite the rain.I'm glad it wasn't a hard soaking rain. Just refreshing enough in my opinion.

@just4him It turned into a long-lasting mess of a rain. It was annoying. Alarms startled me around five A.M. set our phones off, too.

I love the look of maples with red leaves, I am thankful for being able to order from Amazon with four gift cards and got food for the cats and some stuff for myself,

It's true the weather is changing. But it has nothing to do with my knee. Last week when I was dog-sitting, I tripped and fell, crashed hard on my knees. They're badly bruised and sometimes hurt more than other times. Yesterday was one of those days.

It’s raining here so I spent the morning cooking. I made a fruit cocktail cake, a crockpot of veggies and baked a pizza. I have enough cooked food to do for a few days. All I have to do is heat in the microwave. Glad you got everything done today. I did walk to the mailbox under my umbrella. I hope to get my steps tomorrow.

We're getting rain too this weekend. We need it badly. I hope we get the three inches they're predicting.

A gyro omelet sounds good. As for plans...who needs 'em. lol. Actually, I can't say that. I am a very regimented guy. Right now I am thoroughly enjoying not having a schedule other than the one I make for myself. As for what I am thankful for, its always the same with me. Just to be alive.
