Happy Friday the 13th Everyone! it's a sunny day and the last one for awhile. The weekend is going to be soggy and wet and probably into the beginning of next week. With today being Friday the 13 and us talking about superstitions I have to say that I'm not superstitious. But....my grandmother was (my moms mom). Not only wouldn't she leave the house on Friday the 13 but she didn't like black cats, wouldn't walk under a ladder, etc etc. Whatever superstitious there were, my grandmother believed in them. She passed away many years ago but when a Friday the 13th rolls around I think about her. I wish I had asked her why she believed in all those superstitions. It would be interesting to know where it all came from. My mom didn't inherit her moms superstitious beliefs and I guess we just basically just chalked up my grandmothers beliefs to quirks. Funny how you just accept things as you grow up and that peoples odd behavior was just that...odd. Did you (or do you) have any family member that are quirky?

Besides me you mean? lol...well my older nephew for certain. He has that anxious, obsessive type personality.

I have to find out what quicky means. No one in my family has always been superstitious, but we have some eccentric people in the family. The father of my mom surely was.

Superstitions were never a thing in my family, so none of that bothers me in the least bit. I had a black cat for years. I've walked under countless ladders. Every time I look in the mirror, it shatters (haha). Friday the 13th is my favorite day. The number 13 is my lucky number. In fact, I've worn the number 13 on every jersey of every sport I've ever played. Nope, no superstitions for me!

My mom has some superstitions but nothing serious, just don't put knives in cross position and those things.

I think all family members are quirky to some extent. lololol At least my husband's are. I don't see my family. My mother and father were definitely different in their views of life in general. Hope you have a good weekend.

Just mentioned this to someone else. In my birth date my lucky number in 13 and since I was born on a Friday then each Friday the 13th counts as a very lucky day for me,

My grandmother was terrified of lightning and would run around covering all the mirrors if there was a storm. She believed that mirrors attracted lightning.

I'm not superstitious but I follow some Chinese traditions, such as not wearing black clothing when visiting elderly family member during the Chinese New Year.
