My First Ever Chocolate Moist Cake

I had my first baking stunt and created a moist chocolate cake. I thought it would not be possible to bake without an oven. You read it right. I only steamed it, and this is the outcome. It was a bit of a challenge, but I am having fun doing something in the kitchen. At least I am learning something new. By the way, I ate some slices because I could not resist myself from tasting them. Do you like baking? Have you learned something new lately?

I always half-eat a meal before I remember that I wanted to take a photo of it. I'm glad your cake turned out well.

It looks good. Glad that you tried Baking and learnt a new thing. This ought to be the best approach! I have started a course on one of the technologies that I know but want to know in detail. Learning continuosly is so essential in our modern life style. Have a nice Saturday!

@Shavkat They support quick fix formulas within their "budgets". If we recommend radical measures that could mean no immediate returns but good returns after investing and in medium to longer term, they back out. Then they start blaming the employees for not being Innovative, Independent and so on. In some ways, own business and freelancing are better but then not everyone can do it instantly. Plus not everyone can start doing that at anytime. It's a bitter truth. But well, that's how things are.

At first, I also thought that baking is not for me to do. But then, when I had seen a link about it. I just follow the steps and here is the product. I am planning to try another one next week.

That looks tasty. I recently learned that pumpkin leaves are edible. Somehow the leaves need to be peeled before cooking. I'm not sure how to do that.

In my country, we have not tried to eat the leaves. But we eat the taps of some veggies, like sayote taps, sweet potato taps, etc.

I don’t know how you bake a cake without an oven. How did you bake it with moisture. I’d like to bake a cake in the microwave. Is that possible?

It is ideal to use an oven for this one. I just used baking powder with the mixture of chocolate cookies. Then, I put in a can of evaporated milk. I only followed the way it was baked on a link that I found yesterday.

Speaking of Christmas, I am planning and it will be served with the family and relatives. At least, I do not need to overspend with this concern.

Can I have a piece ? My mother made a Japanese cake that way - a recipe from my dad's area . . . it was steamed as well. It has a slightly different texture than a baked dry cake.

It sounds interesting. Uhm, I want to try to do that, too. I do love some Japanese dishes. I did not know that there is Japanese cake. Can I ask the name of the prefecture known for?

@Shavkat My dad was from the south . . . Kagoshima. It is country-ish, so I imagine the food is not part of popular culture. The family called the cake "soda-gashi" (because of the baking soda), but I cannot find a recipe online with that name. There is another white one called karukan from his perfecture . . . made with a particular yam.

I hope I could be a good one. As a newbie in baking, I must say that it cutdown my budget for buying commercialized one. You can try steaming it. It was a fun thing for me to do.

I agree. I always brush off the idea of doing this. When I had checked some recipes for baking, I realized that it is possible to bake without an oven. I was challenged because one of my cousins does not want to teach me, so I did my own research. This is the fruitful one project of mine in the kitchen.

In my house, we never had an oven. I try to bake without it for now. It would be the next level if I am going to use an oven. For now, I am not ready for this idea as a beginner.

Actually, the whole cake was gone on the same day of baking. The rest of the family members had some, and they loved it. It means I did the right thing by baking the moist chocolate cake. It tasted heavenly. You should try baking it, too.
