The hidden winery

So, there is a winery here..not super close by..but not far. It is only open half of the year because it is located somewhere off the beaten path and is (I think, high on a hill) I went looking for it one time. I got close enough to find out it was closed during that part of the year. It might have been in March. However I never saw it. Then friend and I used the GPS and went in search of it once. It kept us turning here and there, and we kept passing the same things. I told him..the GPS doesn't know where it is. I wonder if I am ever going to get there. Maybe I should try to call...If they are still open..it might be interesting to go on a scavenger hunt for it this weekend. In addition, There is a restaurant here that primarily caters to boat traffic. YOu can drive to it, but it is pretty isolated. You practically have to go through a cow pasture to get there. Do you have any "hidden" places around you?

Not much can hide around here. There aren't any trees other than in suburban areas and mostly it's flat unless you're heading towards the mountains. I can see for miles and miles

Easy to hide stuff here for sure .Unless they are on the main roads there are quite a few things you kind of have to hunt for here.

OH YES! There are small restaurant and dairy farms that are hidden up on the mountains and you really need to know where they are to find them.

I think before I truck off looking for that place again..I will check to see if they are still open and try to get some more specific directions

@snowy22315 I often ask for directions to the locals who know where those places are.

@LadyDuck You wouldn't be too likely to see locals on the way to this winery...it is more like wooded country.

Not that I know of, but now that you have mentioned that, I'll have to find some.

Those places sound interesting. I don't know of any hidden locations that would make it of special interest.

We're going to a place for lunch shortly and that's pretty well hidden. The first couple of times are always a bit of a challenge.

There is a big one here that is part of a marina. They have only been open about a year. When they first opened they had signs up everywhere, but now other than locals, or those using the marina, no one would know it was there.

@JudyEv I think they would like as much business as they can get. It is a big place and could accommodate lots.

Thanks, yeah I will. It looks like a good place. I think before I made to the gate, the first time I went up there but not onto the property itself.

We had a hidden restaurant when I lived in Germany. I accidentally discovered it when a friend and I were out walking in the countryside. I told my parents about it and it became one of our favorite places to eat.

It is fun when you discover something like that. I looked up the FB page for the winery and it looks like a cool place. They even have potlucks However, it would be a challenge to get there and back in the dark.
