He calls it "a tear drop of booze".

When I go to Dixie´s house and Humberto is there he greets me with happiness. When he is alone he drinks a small bottle of beer or a glass of wine and that´s it. He does not like to drink alone and Dixie cannot drink because of her heart problems.
So when I´m there he asks me "would you like a teardrop of booze?" I go to the kitchen immediatly to get the cheese I have brought or some nuts or pistachios. He brings a couple of very tiny glasses we bought in Aruba (I have 2 here too for the same purpose) and fills it with half a glass of Jack Daniels.
Today I wanted a teardrop of booze but I did not have JD. I gave all of mine to Humberto during the pandemia as I would be staying at their home. But the shoppers have brought me 2 tiny bottles of Johnny Walkers. Blonde, it said. I had not tasted it. If it is nasty, I can throw it down the drain, I thought. But it was very nice.
So here I am, thinking about my friends and celebrating that they are almost home. SALUT!
It will take a while before I can persuade Humberto to take me to the south of Chile aboard the sailboat. I want to eat loads of fresh King crab there. Just with homemade mayo.
When Humberto is here, I´ll write a post about it only in capital letters although I think that it is against the rules.
See you, friends.

Mmm King crab. Yum! Good call there. I'd love to take a ride on a sail boat.

Humberto taught me about Jack Daniels (bourbon) a few years ago and now it is my favorite. Before I was used to Scotch. I was iniciated in Scotch very early in my life when I was just married. We went to play cards with a couple on weekend nights and there was always Scotch around. Cecila liked sweet liquor but I have always preferred what people here call "men´s booze".

@LadyDuck The only sweet liquor I love is Baileys. I´d place it in a formula bottle and take it to bed

@marguicha My husband likes Bourbon, I prefer whisky. My mother always liked sweet liquors, I also preferred "men's booze", a good Cognac is also good.

I don´t think that I´ve been drunk more than twice in my life. The first time I was 15 and we drank the rests of a punch with my closest friend after a party at my house. My mother came while we laughed and danced and asked what had we drank. I showed her. It was the base of the punch my mom had made. Before she took it to where we were she added several bottles of pop water. No wonder it was so much better.
