Unsuccessful Job Hunt

October 21, 2023 1:25am CST
It has been 6 months already since I got laid off from my writing job. I've been trying to find myself another online job but this is the first time that I actually found it hard to get hired. I am not physically fit for manual labor, that's why I've always looked for remote jobs. After four years at the same company, they decided to change their business model by using a "new technology" that their best writers can use. Suffice to say, a lot of us had to be let go. I sent out many applications and hadn't received a reply back for a single one. Where I'm from, a salary of USD$500 per month can go a long way, so I'm used to this kind of work as a single parent. But it's been tough lately since I lost my job and it's been hard on my family since they have to support us, too. This has been the toughest year for me lately and I don't know what to do anymore.

I have the same problem. I had a part-time job and they fired me. Living without a job can be very difficult.

Both of my sons have been looking for jobs since finishing education. They both know what they want to do (one actor, one maths teacher) but are both prepared to take on anything they can do. The actor was well aware he'd need to seek alternatives. The teacher, you'd think he'd be snapped up. Thankfully, I'm able to support them until they find something as they love with me so it's not really any extra cost other than food. I've been in the same boat myself. Looking for jobs, knowing you have the skills, qualifications and experience, but still wondering what more you could possibly do. I hope you do find something. It can really get you down when you're trying and not getting anywhere. Keep going and I wish to luck.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Have there been any updates? Have you tried looking for transcription jobs? I've noticed there are many opportunities for transcription, similar to translation. I hope you're able to find one.

I am sorry to know that you lost your job. I understand how difficult it is to survive when you have no source of earnings. I wish you get a job soon. Don't lose hopes.
