I never thought about butterflies not being everywhere but maybe they don't like the dry heat. Glad you got to see one.

@rebelann We do get them - monarchs and big swallowtails . . . but I don't know the names of others. What I would like to see are the blueish and purplish ones - I never see those out here. Hope you get more!

Oh wow, I've never seen any that are blueish or purplish, would love to see those though.

That's what I thought too. Do you get butterflies? This is the first one I've seen in years.

I enjoyed your video, the butterfly is beautiful and she seems to enjoy those flowering plants.

It is the nature of things, worker bees usually only live about 3 or 4 days.

Could it be that monarchs can be small as well?

Yes, to me at least, I haven't a clue if these mini monarchs fly around in other areas.

I thought so too. If it weren't so little I'd think it were a monarch.

That's very pretty. I don't see too many butterflies either. Maybe I just don't look.

Maybe I don't look either but I honestly think it's more to do with the hot arid weather we get in srring, summer.

It is beautiful. I see a butterfly every once in awhile but by the time I get my phone out to get a picture they’ve left the scene.

It took me 2 days to get this one, that bush of mine is really drawing in the bees, wasps and for a little while the butterfly.
