I know, this seems to be most of the posts that I write these days. Hopefully that wont extend past the end of the year. I am really hoping that when I go see my PCP on Monday she will be able to refer me to a surgeon and we can at least get a little more of a handle on things and get closer to the surgery date. (Fingers crossed).
Anyway, I have been just dealing with the pain the best I can for the most part. I went to two different emergency rooms a week and a half or two ago- and things calmed down after that round of antibiotics ETC.
Well that all fell apart two days ago. The pain intensified. I was getting dizzy more often, I stopped being able to keep any food down at all and I was nauseated nearly one hundred percent of the time. After attempting to feel better last night and trying to drink some Sprite, I became intensely sick. Almost immediately I was in like four times as much pain as I had been dealing with before that. I took a pain med and we went home I tried to settle in for the night and had the hardest time. I dozed off and on, but didn't get any real sleep. Woke up this morning in more pain. I was hoping that by this morning I wouldn't feel as rough. But I wasn't that lucky.
I called my PCP and told them I needed an appointment as soon as possible. Sadly that is the 20th. Six days away. I told them okay, and they said if it was that bad I needed to go to the ER.
We went into town and went to Walmart and I was still not doing good, so we grabbed something I could try to eat from the deli at Walmart and came home to grab warmer clothes- since everyone knows that hospitals are COLD all the time. I got sweats and grabbed my hoodie and off we went. After eating maybe four bites- I was again in pain. And then I puked. So that was fun.
We went to the ER, and they were busy. They are in Miramar Beach which is basically Destin, which is tourist central. So they are always busy. Well, most of the time they are. Anyway. I waited for maybe 45 minutes before they triaged me. The nurses recognized me and got me in and out of triage pretty quickly and to a room. I thought we were going to do a CAT scan, but they just did urine, blood, and ultrasound. They had HELL getting blood. I am a hard stick anyway and I guess they just had extra trouble today. They finally went and got the vein ultrasound machine and a new guy came in. He dug around in my arm a little but got it in.
The blood came back pretty good. The numbers were good, but my urine test came back a little dehydrated. But my gallbladder is swollen, there is an infection, and the doctor and I talked about it for a little bit. She said she was going to try to get ahold of the surgeons in that hospital because the chronic infections and constant pain are not good- and it's just going to get worse.
She gave me some IV fluids, antibiotics, and something to take care of the pain for a little bit. The nausea is a little better. I got a Hormel Complete on the way home from the hospital from Walmart and was able to stomach a little bit of that. Pain is probably cut in half. She sent prescriptions to the pharmacy, and I was able to pick up one of them because I had to take that one in person and the pharmacy that we like to use is literally across the street from the hospital.
Luckily I have some anti-nausea meds at home, and they gave me enough antibiotics at the hospital that I won't need another dose until morning. So I'm doing better than I was pre-hospital trip, but still not great.
I have my fingers crossed that hopefully, I will be able to get my crap together to afford and have surgery sooner rather than later.
I have gotten several comments, messages, and some text messages asking me how I was doing and I appreciate you guys checking on me and sending me well wishes and prayers. So I figured I would go ahead and post an update. I know it's kind of lengthy- and rambly but I am running on not much sleep and I keep getting distracted by this stupid "mermaid" footage on YouTube.
So sorry this is rambly. But there you have it. What's going on health-wise with me, with probably too many details Hope you all are doing well! I am going to try to get to all my notifications tonight and catch up with some of you.

You are going through a pretty rough spell. I hope this is behind you sooner rather than later and you can get this needed surgery done and get back to normal. Hang in there. You are a tough cookie from what I've seen around here. You've got this!

They should. But it is an elective surgery. And they won’t take it out atthe er unless it’s a emergency

Sending loads of good wishes that something will be done - and soon - to make you more comfortable. It sounds horrendous.
