Red Grapes and/or Black Grapes

United States

When it comes to grapes I like them all with green being my least favorite. So, I usually buy either black or red grapes every week when I grocery shop. This week I bought one container of red and one container of black. The red are juicy and sweet whereas the black are juicy and have no taste. They are just blah and a big disappointment. Guess on my next shopping expedition I'll just stick with the red. Do you like grapes?

I do like grapes. I freeze them and suck on them. I am less likely to eat too many this way.

@Marilynda1225 they’re not bad that way. If I don’t freeze them I am likely to spike my blood sugar by eating too many.

I never tried freezing grapes but I know it's popular. Maybe I should give it a try

I honestly never notice a taste difference but my son does. I love them all!

Yes, I like grapes and like you, I eschew the green ones, whenever possible.

generally I go for the black ones but lately they've been hard to find. This week I got a bunch and they were so disappointing

Yes, I like them...but I don't always buy them. I am a fan of most grape types.

I love grapes and always have a bunch handy. Easy for snacking and satisfying for my sweet tooth

I don't mind green grapes, but I am not a huge fan of grapes in general. I remember when I was a very small child, we had red and green grapevines on the farm. My grandparents had grown them, they were very self sufficient. I remember how sad my Gramma was when my mother insisted that my Dad tear them out. She had so many nice places to find fresh fruit, 4 different varieties of apple trees, apricot, and a pear tree, black, blue and raspberries, red and black currants and of course rheubarb.

@Juliaacv You had smart grandparents. We planted a grape start this year. Home grown grapes taste much better than store grapes.

I prefer the long black grapes but they aren't "in season" right now... If I buy red grapes, Pretty helps me eat those but she won't touch green grapes. I always eat a grape out of the bag I'm thinking about buying... I bought a bag two years ago, before I started trying them, that was so sour I couldn't eat them. I'm not wasting my money on inedible grapes again. For a while Walmart started putting the grapes in sealed plastic cartons here... I wouldn't buy any like that... I guess they don't sell well when they're sealed because Walmart stopped doing that.

I don’t really eat a lot of grapes, now that I think about it. In the past, I have preferred the red over the green type. Now, sparkling grape juice gets my attention, but since it isn’t exactly healthy, I haven’t had that in years.

When I was a child, we grew the most awesome juicy plump black grapes. I can still taste them now.

I like the ones I grow which are concord. But many that I have bought seemed to have little taste

Yes I like the red ones the best, with green coming up second. Have a good weekend.

I also prefer red or black grapes. Must be seedless.
