Spring Texas resident Gabriel Silva who is a 17 year old male teenager on the evening of Saturday evening August 26 when he suffered at stroke while he was in his bed living with his parents who were in bed at that time. The Silva family dog who is a border collie named Axel went to the bedroom of Gabriel's mom and step dad Amanda and Daines Tanner to alert them about their child feeling sick around 5 am. When Daines and his wife followed Axel to the bedroom where Gabriel had a hard time trying to speak due to the effects of the stroke. Gabriel's parents took him to the hospital quickly where Gabriel was treated by the doctors with blood thinners. When Gabriel was then taken to the Memorial Herrmann-Texas Medical Center, the cause of the stroke just happened since Gabriel is in good physical shape. Gabriel is on his way to making a full recovery. His parents are grateful that their family dog alerted them of the tragic events that nearly ended his life. Link is msn.com/en-us/health/o...

Dogs have saved so many lives over the years. Gabriel was a lucky lad that the dog woke his parents.

You are right since dogs are not called the best friend of humans for nothing.

Our pets are simply amazing, how they know to alert when there is an emergency going on.

Pets are more intelligent than we can imagine. They indicate a lot of things with gestures. We have to observe them keenly.

I'm glad the dog alerted his parents and took him to the hospital. I'm also thankful for the teenagers in the picture who prayed for him and his full recovery.

That is pretty terrible that someone so young could have a stroke. It was good that the dog's action ensured quick action from the parents, and that a full recovery will be made.

Pets can do such amazing things. I've heard of dogs who can sense oncoming seizures, smell cancers, etc. Glad the dog was around to alert his parents, and save his life.

That part of dogs having senses to detect anyone having a stroke before.
