Welcome to Aldi

While this YouTube short is showing a Walmart background, it is clearly making fun of Aldi checkers—well, it's in the title of course.
While somewhat farfetched, and may I add, quite funny, it's really not that far from the truth. Aldi has some of the fastest checkers I have ever seen in any retail operation hands down.
Now. Granted. If you want a cart full of dented cans, bruised bananas, pre-scrambled eggs and your loaf of bread flattened under 30 pounds of groceries, it's a GREAT bargain too!
I kid quite a bit. It's a good store with good people and great prices most of the time. But you can't help but have a little fun with the whole idea in any event, and this short had me cracking up.
HOW CASHIERS SCAN GROCERIES!Not saying this is all true but sometime in your life, you may come across a couple of cashiers like this! lolThanks for watching...

Cashiers at Aldi are very fast and for a reason, if they do not scan a certain number of items per minutes they lose their job. As we put things back in the cart ourselves, there is nothing that can be dented, bruised or flattened unless we are so dumb to put something fragile under 30 pounds of groceries.

@LadyDuck That might be a good thing in a way. I mean, it may add pressure. But the customer experience is what is most important, and I'd rather have fast checkers than slow ones. And if people are going to be paid well, at least let's make sure they are earning it.

I really like Aldi. I’ve never had dented cans, the employees are very nice and helpful as well. The meats I purchase there are wonderful quality, and I have no issues with their house brands.
One of the three Aldi stores here is very close to a Ruler store. They are good, too. I do like Aldi meat better, especially the ground beef. But both are good stores.

They have gotten better about just tossing stuff into the carts that could get damaged. I think it probably became a complaint at some point. I mean, I want fast. But if you're just going to hurdle everything into the air to land in my cart, that's something I am going to poo-poo. lol
I tend to shop at Ruler a bit more often than Aldi.

@MarieCoyle Around here we had two Ruler Foods, but they closed the one closest to me due to mine subsidence. So, for now we only have one. In a short radius we have three Aldi stores with the new one just opened up closest to me.

We have several Ruler stores as well as 3 Aldi not far from me. One of the Aldi stores always has a lot of things missing, but it is close to campus and the students hit it hard for the lower prices. I have one Ruler not far from Aldi, I do go to both but I tend to hit my favorite Aldi for the one ''big'' run every month.

That's funny. We have a Aldi, but we haven't gone. My mother keep talking about us going.

That's a cute video. We bought a beef tenderloin and a standing rib roast there when they had a special. Really cheap! Have a good day.

@porwest I wish I could get hubs to shop there more; but I've been putting orders together at Walmart; and hubs just has to pick them up. He seems to like that.

@LindaOHio Aldi certainly helps to stretch the budget a bit.

I don't mind their prices at all. Most of the time I shop at Ruler's which is a similar concept. But I can't complain much about anything where Aldi is concerned. And their pot roasts are usually cheaper there than anywhere unless I find a really good sale on them. But even then, their price still usually beats any sale.

We have a few Aldi's in my city, but none are conveniently located to where I live, so I haven't shopped at any of them yet. But Aldi just bought out Winn-Dixie (which there are 2 here that I know of), so if they become Aldi's in the near future I will have one that is not too far from my house.
