Trivia: Free public transport goes to...

...Luxembourg. All of this began in 2020. I hope this program is available in every nation. We are unable to, regrettably. The cost of petroleum is continually soaring, and we have to put up with paying for buses, trains, and other transportation. The inhabitants are quite fortunate. Luxembourg is the first nation to implement completely free public transportation. What's your opinion about it? Image Credit: afar.brightspotcdn.com

I wish my nation would have some free transportation since I could use it beside having to take free rides from my insurance company.

I was so hopeful that it could also happen here in my country. It would be a great help.

The US is too big and the cost would be prohibitive here. That's why we don't have buses and trains like other countries do.

In my vountry, riding taxis will cost an arm and a leg. By the way, we do not have trains in my city. It would be great if there are though.

@Shavkat We don't have buses or taxis in my city. If you don't own your own vehicle, you have to walk or ride a bike everywhere.

@DaddyEvil Whoah! We do need our own vehicles there then. I am not sure if I can live at your place. Unless I have a car.

It would be nice but I don't think it will happen here

I also think that way. It will be impossible for my country to grant this scheme.

The people there are very fortunate. Those on health care cards like the elderly, disadvantaged, etc, have free travel but only in off-peak hours. But it's still very useful.

I am glad that they can have free travel. It will be a great assistance for them. It is better than nothing as they say.

In the article, it did not indicate where they were going to get the money to sustain this free scheme. I assumed that it was from the people's taxes.

If it was free in more countries more people would be using it.

Luxembourg is a very small country. In the UK elders do not pay public transportation if they travel during non rush hours.
