Putting out more fires.

When I got back to the hospital, they had put in a feeding tube. George is having trouble swallowing, and they believe he aspirated some of his meals in his lungs, because he's trying to eat and drink pre-stroke. Not that I can blame him. The normal part of his brain doesn't realize that some of his brain is injured. Since speech was mainly affected, he feels like he can do everything else. So, that's where my patience is tested.

I am so sorry and I hope it's temporary and he can (at least partly) recover his brain functions.

He has the best chance of making a full recovery. We just have to climb a mountain to get there.

@kaylachan It is comforting to know that he can fully recover. It will be long, but he is lucky to have you with him helping.

Kayla..I am sorry to read this. I know how terrible that is the aspiration..I have experienced it happening with my son. You are so strong Kayla. Go George.

I'm sorry they needed to put in a feeding tube. I hope it helps him eat and helps him understand what he can and can't do. Everything takes time.

Oh, dear. I am sorry to hear that, I hope he won't need it for too long of a time. I know this is a very tough time for both of you, and probably Chilly, too. Take good care of yourself, Kayla.

Chilly is all kinds of confused, if I'm being honest. He can't figure out why I come home everyday and " Dady: doesn't.

@kaylachan Pets pick up on changes very quickly, they are smart. I am sure you and George would rather be home with Chilly. Hopefully, George will soon feel better. I am sure both you and Chilly want him home as soon as it is safe for him to be there.

I hope they can take out the feeding tube soon. Don't forget to hydrate and eat. You must take care of yourself too.
