A Warm and Fuzzy Friday Feeling

Happy Friday Everyone!
Yesterday was Thanksgiving and it was wonderful day to spend with family. My daughter and son in law outdid themselves with the feast they made and of course I came home feeling as stuffed as the turkey.
Overnight we went from pumpkins and Fall decorations to Christmas.
When I came downstairs this morning to have my coffee, I was more than surprised to see that my daughter had been up early, and the Christmas tree was standing in the living room all lit and the fireplace was going.
Talk about ambience! Coffee seemed extra good surrounded by the mere presence of the tree.
Of course the tree isn't decorated yet and later today we'll probably drag all the decorations out and get it started.
I'm a Christmas person and this is my favorite time of year.
How about you? Do you decorate early or are you a last minute person?

I am so happy that you and your family had such a great time together yesterday. Your daughter surely learned from the best.
I am not sure when my hubby wants to put the tree up I always have this week off for vacation and usually do it while he works but I’ve been with him all week caring for the children and haven’t had any time.

So which is harder? Working or caring for the twins? I know helping him with the twins is more fulfilling but I remember the days when I helped put with my grandkids and I was pooped

@Marilynda1225 Caring for the twins is physically harder than work, which is mentally hard.
My ankle slows me down from walking very fast, and they like us to take off our shoes at the play groups that we go to for 2 of the days each week. That does not help my ankle.
Sometimes on Saturdays I get asked to come over, tomorrow is just one such Saturday. Our son and his wife will work together to do a big clean on the house, and I will keep the girls busy.
I put together a gingerbread house, so that everything can dry and be solid for the morning, and then I will put them both in their high chairs, with me in the middle at the table and I will put the icing on it and give them the candies to decorate the house with. It should be interesting. Willow loves to do crafts, so this is right up her alley, Harper loves sweets, and I have a feeling that is her motivation.

@Juliaacv I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your ankle.
I hope the gingerbread house decorating went well. Such fun memories in the making. Hearing about the twins at this age just brings back so many great memories of when my grandkids were growing up.

@Marilynda1225 That's the wonderful thing about the holiday season—it has this innate ability to evoke a sense of magic and warmth, regardless of age.

I love the ambiance as you say Marilyn.
I hope the weekend is fine for you.
I do not have a set routine in my life for decorations.
I am just lucky to have a place to live
Still, that makes it never boring.

The weekend flew by and with the grandkids home it was just a bit busier than I had expected it to be. Lots of fun but I'm happy to relax today.

I'm so glad you came down to Christmas decor. It puts a smile in your footsteps and makes everything so much better.
I have some decorations up year-round. I wasn't going to put up the tree this year because there's no room in the apartment. However, I put it up a few days ago on the balcony. Now, everyone can enjoy it, not just me. I turned on my small fiber optic in October and decorated it on Thursday with smaller decorations I got last year from several people who live here and a couple of others. I'll take a picture of it and show you.

Your little tree looks very festive! I love Christas and all the lights and decorations.
What a great idea to put your tree on the balcony.
With the grandkids home for Thanksgiving we were busy so I didn't get as much decorating done as I had expected. Today I'm relaxing and doing laundry and hopefully throughout the week I'll get the decorating done.

@Marilynda1225 It's a bit windy today and it's shaking in the wind, but I have it anchored to the railing with a garland. It's not going anywhere.
I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving with the grandkids. It's a good day to relax. you have time to get the decorating done.

I can just imagine how wonderful it would have been to come down and see the tree up and the fire lit. We have ordered a tree that sort of pops up so we can have it up here and will be able to take it to our house-sit. We're there from 17 to 31 December. The people might have decorations up already but in case they haven't we can take the tree and few decorations of our own.

Having a tree you can take to your house-sit is a good idea especially if the people haven't decorated.

@Marilynda1225 We need one that will pack away nicely as there isn't a lot of storage room for big things.

I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. We don't bring our tiny tabletop tree out until later in December. We also will put a wreath on the door; and that's it. Have a great weekend.

Sometimes I think I would love a tabletop tree but once mine is up and decorated I think it would be hard to give up the big tree. I'm sure your tabletop is festive.
I have a wreath for my front door too. That won't go on until December hits the calendar.

@Marilynda1225 It's just the two of us; so we don't go to any great lengths to decorate.

That must have been a nice surprise for you on Friday. I do tend to decorate early, and since I had some new battery operated lights...I put them out earlier than usual. They look great.

It was a really nice surprise but we didn't get as much decorating done as I had thought we would. The days just flew by and with the grandkids home it was busy

That makes me wonder if I should buy a potted pine big enough for Tuffy to sleep in, he's kinda heavy though so would probably crush branches of a smaller tree

I've had cats so I know they would love to play with decorations and definitely make a mess of a tree. I had one cat that loved to climb up the tree and sleep on the middle branches

I don’t decorate (my neighbors use my fence for their decorations so it looks like my house is decorated, too). I went over to see my brother last week and he already had his Snoopy inflatables up.

Thats pretty cool that you can capitalize on your neighbors decorations. Your brother sounds like a Christmas person to me

My tree is prelit so it's easy peasy to put up. Our outside lights probably won't go up until next weekend

The older we get the harder it is to do all that decorating. If my daughter didn't live with me I wouldn't have much decorating done al all.

I'm a last-minute person. But I don't decorate much. Just have a small Christmas tree in my tiny apartment.
