Is the Left using AI to make Donald Trump look like an idiot? One of my favorite films is involved.

In 1991, Ms Horse and I went to see Silence of the Lambs. It was a really good, and creepy, movie. Anthony Hopkins did a great job as a psychopathic (but somehow lovable) cannibal, who liked to murder people and eat them.
In a recent speech, Donald Trump is alleged to have said that the cannibal in that movie loves him, and so he loves the cannibal. He seemed not to understand that it would be the actor who played that cannibal, Anthony Hopkins, who might have said good things about him.
But further research suggests that Anthony Hopkins had never supported Donald Trump. Donald Trump appears to be both confused (movie characters are played by actors; they are not actors) and lying (Anthony Hopkins has never supported him, nor have other actors who played the affable cannibal).
Do you believe that Donald Trump actually said this stuff (it may have allegedly been in Iowa)? Or is the Left using AI to put words into his mouth and make him look like an idiot?
Trump claimed "The Silence of the Lambs" killer threw his support behind him in an awkward flub on Saturday.

Is the guy senile? Will anyone in an official capacity state that? Will he be locked up somewhere where he can do no harm? It would have to be artificial intelligence because he doesn't seem to have any if he's giving away state secrets and believing he has the right to do so.

@TheHorse Well, we know how easily AI takes offense at innocent remarks over on fb...

@BarBaraPrz Does it? AI scares me. I studied it in grad school.

Orangeface doesn’t need any help in looking like an idiot. Neither do 99.237184% of the politicians.

I think Trump has gone around the bend so far he will never come back. I believe he just could have also said this. I do not think he lives in the same world we live in.

Very fascinating question. I've tried to watch the actual full speech on Newsmax, but they want a subsricbtion fee, which I'm not going to do. I don't have a horse in this race, but I do see that news channel to be more right than left, so I doubt they will air something like that if it did happen. Newsmax definitely did not report on it. I'm leaning towards parody.
The movie was also good, worthy of watching again

@TheHorse I did, but because I've seen headlines and news content change over time, I'm a bit wary of snippets and context.
And you really don't have to think, it is real.
Its like a parody of himself, just saying a bunch of things that do not even tie together in any way.
There is an even better part about a minute after that bit when he said all over Africa they are emptying their prisons and they are transporting their prisoners to the USA. Say what, how? I've travelled widely in Africa and never has a prison been emptied there or a prisoner been offered a free ride to the US border. Ridiculous.
