Looks like great deals are still in effect

I bought Villeroy & Boch Mademoiselle 64-Piece Flatware Set that serves 12 people and also includes a serving spoon, a slotted serving spoon, a meat fork, and a ladle at 68% off at Wayfair. It came out to $190 (+tax) as opposed to its initial price of $600. That's a really great deal I think. And I really love the set. It is interesting though that the initial price of the same set at Macys is $429, which is way cheaper. Why such a difference? I was going to get it there at first but the final sale price ($249) is more expensive than the one at Wayfair. I also bought an egg storage container, and a bathroom accessory set at Wayfair. I didn't save as much as I did on the flatware set but I still saved something. Total was around $44. And then I went over to Amazon and bought a free-standing toilet paper holder, and three books (Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer, Sword Catcher by Cassandra Clare, and Knife Drop (cookbook) by Nick Digiovanni). I had a gift card balance there and I also used my Capital One rewards points so I paid only $57.77 for everything. You can say the books were a splurge but the other stuff I actually needed. And buying all this stuff perked me up. I am in a happier mood. I guess shopping can be therapeutic in a way.

Last night I saw that philosophy was still running their 40% off sale so I ordered a few Christmas presents.

@lovebuglena I agree! I had already bought a few of my usuals for myself last week but when I saw it was still going I placed a second order.

That's a great sale on the flatware. Sometimes stores will show a higher list price to make the sales seem that much better. Have a great day.

Bloomingdales was also selling that same set for the original price of $600. Along with some other sites.

Me too. I now have to keep track of many deliveries lol. Even stuff in the same order won't come in one shipment.

@RebeccasFarm and the purchase I wasn’t logged in for was a much higher order so I missed out on higher rewards.

I think I did. Hubby isn't thrilled about the flatware set. Tough luck lol. I love it and don't plan on returning it. I am frustrated though. I activated the capital one shopping for the purchase using the browser extension for it but I wasn't automatically logged in to my capital one shopping account so missed out on earning rewards for the order. When I placed the second order I logged on to capital one shopping before activating via the extension and that worked.

I sometimes think stores jack up their prices before they take big percentages off. But it's does sound like you got a great deal.

That could very well be true. Make the price much higher to make a person think they are saving a lot more than they actually are. That shouldn't be allowed though if that is the case.

Shopping for me is great when I purchase items that I need like batteries for my remote and audiotapes.

Me too. I have Villeroy & Boch plates so it will be nice to have this brand's flatware as well. Now the issue is where to store it. It won't fit into my utensil organizer. May have to by a new one.
