My first ever cookbook

I don’t generally like to follow recipes when I cook so I never bought a cookbook. Until now.
Knife Drop by Nick Digiovanni —a former Master Chef contestant turned social media star and chef—is my first ever cookbook. Gordon Ramsay wrote the forward for the book.
I love soups so am bummed that the soup section is empty. (It actually says “404 ERROR Soups not found.” in there.
)
There are many mouthwatering recipes to try. I think the first thing I wanna make is a blueberry Brie grilled sandwich.
I saw Nick make it on one of the morning shows on TV and it looked so good. Plus, the picture in the cookbook is making me hungry for it.

Enjoy! hard to believe you haven't had a cookbook until now. I never use mine really, but I am attached to them. That should be a New Years resolution for me, make a recipe out of each cookbook! I think it will be.

I don't really want to buy a cookbook if I am never going to use it. What's the point lol unless I were a cookbook collector? But maybe getting this one will be the start of me buying more. Never know.

I can totally relate to your approach to cooking! It's refreshing to hear about your first cookbook purchase and how you've chosen "Knife Drop" by Nick Digiovanni. The fact that Gordon Ramsay wrote the forward adds an extra layer of credibility.
It's a bit disappointing to find the soup section empty, but the "404 ERROR Soups not found" is a humorous touch. On the bright side, it sounds like there are plenty of other enticing recipes to explore.
That blueberry Brie grilled sandwich sounds incredible! It's always exciting to try something new, especially when you've seen it prepared by the chef themselves. The visual appeal of the picture in the cookbook is definitely a bonus. Happy cooking, and may your culinary adventures with "Knife Drop" be filled with delicious moments!

I haven't yet dived into the book so not sure what else he's got in there that I want to try now.

@lovebuglena I suppose you do not bake cakes, you MUST follow recipes if you bake cakes.

@LadyDuck I do not bake at all. Baking is a science. So I’ve heard people say.

I generally don't follow recipes. It's only if I am not sure on the order of steps to make something I may look up a recipe online. And I like to just come up with stuff on my own. That's why I don't buy cookbooks. No point in buying them if I will not use them. Made an exception this time and am actually set on trying some things out from it. Who knows? Maybe I will buy another cookbook after this.

That’s a lot of cookbooks. Do you use them often?

From what chefs? How many have you used?

@lovebuglena I've used all of them at one time or another. I don't think I have any from chefs. I don't know.

One thing I know is that if I wanna make something from the cookbook I have to decide that ahead of time. Otherwise, what will happen is that I won't have all the ingredients to make the recipe.

Yep. No soups. I remember reading some reviews of the book on Amazon and someone thought there was a mistake in the book when they saw the soup section had no recipes.
