All the Swifty Hype

She's a remarkable performer and songwriter even if her "brand" of music doesn't happen to exactly align with my preferences for music. I'm talking about Taylor Swift, of course, who, by the way, is now a billionaire following her Eras tour which pretty much blew the lid off the industry. Good for her. I am glad to see success and never frown on it. Beyond the Eras tour success which has made headlines more than once, she now has a new relationship which has been trending the airwaves—her new boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. Now, I can't say I am not happy for her. Or even Travis for that matter. But one wonders if he realizes she is a billionaire musician whose entire catalog of songs were written about break ups and old boyfriends. Is he vying to be the one that finally captures her heart, or is he just a fan curious of which songs will be written for him somewhere down the line?

I know who she is, but I am not a fan of her songs.

@porwest - Some people are incredibly lucky, she is not bad but I cannot honestly understand why she is the highest paid on the planet... not sure about most popular, at least not this side of the planet.

I think she does all right, but I agree her brand of music is not on the top of my list. But she's now the highest paid, most popular musician on the planet. lol

@LadyDuck She's just, for whatever reason, caught on. It happens. There's always someone "on top," and she just happens to be one who is on top right now.

She has a pretty bad track record when it comes to relationships. One hopes that she finally finds her “right” guy in Travis, but history probably suggests otherwise.

@porwest It's possible he could be the "one" for her, but I wonder if it's meant to last? She pretty much got into a relationship with him right after breaking up with her old guy. I kinda look at this one as being the rebound relationship, but love is a funny thing, and you never know what can happen. I guess I'll just sit back and watch what happens.

That's where I come down. Travis will just be another hit song. It seems inevitable that happens. But who knows? Maybe he lucks out and becomes "the one?"

I am not her target audience musically, though because of pop culture it is hard not to know who she is or some of her songs. Just like her dating and writing songs when she is done with them.

She has definitely made a mark. Her star WILL eventually fade, as they all eventually do. But for right now she's the one on top and she's definitely cashing in big time on that. As for Kelce, I don't think he'll last any longer than any of the others. But we shall see, I guess.

Heard about this. She and Kelce have been dating for a while; and she has attended several of his games. They put the camera on her when he makes a good play. As far as how long this relationship will last, we can only guess. Have a great day.

Only time will tell. After the Super Bowl stuff one does wonder if it is not just a "publicity" thing not unlike the Hollywood studios used to set up back in the day.

"But one wonders if he realizes she is a billionaire musician whose entire catalog of songs were written about break ups and old boyfriends." My thought exactly!!! Maybe Travis should ask Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, John Mayer and Tom Hiddleston.

Eventually there will be enough names on the list to form a club, "The Taylor Swift Breakup Club," or something like that. They'd be able to have annual meetings and such. lol

@porwest What's scary is she is trying to get the Swifties politically motivated to vote in 2024. Now, that is worrisome to me.

@dgobucks226 Agreed. And she is improperly aligned in this area of course.
