Would you eat cottage cheese cheesecake?

I like the Skinnytaste blog and check it a couple of times a week to see if there are any new recipes that I want to try. She likes to incorporate cottage cheese into recipes to reduce fat and increase protein. I like cottage cheese. I really like her high protein egg white muffins with cottage cheese. I draw the line at putting cottage cheese in cheesecake. It is a no for me just like I refuse to put cottage cheese in lasagna. That is a ricotta-only zone! Well cheesecake is cream cheese only IMO. If I want to add some more protein in my life, I'll add a protein water before I eat cottage cheese cheesecake.
This low-calorie, New York-style cheesecake is made with a combination of cottage cheese and cream cheese, blended together for a creamy and delicious dessert! No one will even know!

I would try it - but it wouldn't mean I'd like it . My home-ec lasagna recipe had cottage cheese in it . . . I never had lasagna back then, so I didn't know any better - so that's how I made it. Had a funny aftertaste though. But after discovering ricotta, I never went back!

Same as you, cottage cheese in lasagna is a big NO. I like cottage cheese, but I am not sure I would like it in a cheesecake.

We disagree on this one. Most recipes I have seen for a traditional meat lasagna call for it. Granted, it is not the only cheese used. But it is one of them.

@porwest I am sure that this is "American" lasagna, that I tried and I did not like at all.

@LadyDuck Probably. We definitely add more flavors and make things quite a bit more savory here. The term "Americanized" is a common one when it comes to most ethnic cuisines. It's a bit sad when you think about it, but most of the time when Americans have the "real deal," we find it bland and disappointing. There was a lady I knew that was VERY Italian, FROM Italy, with a DEEP Italian accent and she offered me authentic Italian spaghetti and I have to tell you, it was terrible. lol Go figure. I much prefer AMERICAN spaghetti, but it is what I am used to of course. lol

No cottage cheese cheesecake for us. I used to use cottage cheese in lasagna occasionally. Have a good weekend.

@porwest It's less expensive and I would think less calories.

If I make a traditional meat lasagna, I always put cottage cheese in it.

You and I are in agreement on this one. Cheesecake is cheesecake and it would never have cottage cheese and get to be called cheesecake.

I love cottage cheese and we Bengalis make most sweets from cottage cheese. We even make curry out of cheese.

I'm not much of a fan of cottage cheese. So I doubt I'd enjoy in a cheesecake
