Since I am at home I have the leisure to put on a kettle and have some tea. One of the teachers I work with gave me a lovely mug as a Christmas present. His wife is also a coworker. She probably helped with the shopping Someone has lovely taste. This mug holds two full cups and is very pretty. They also gave me a scented candle and warm "bed socks" that I am wearing now. I am enjoying my slow day at home. I winterized one of the windows in my office that has basically been uncovered. I rehung curtains and then put a crocheted afghan over the top It is darker in here, but warmer. We are off school for today, but much colder weather is predicted for later this week. I should do more winterization, but first, my cup of tea.

The mug looks beautiful! I’m sitting on my couch, watching a plastic bag by my front door, flutter in the wind. I keep trying to plug the bottom of the front door, but there is just too large of an area showing daylight to hold off the wind from outside.

I have always lived drafty places, except maybe in California it was not, or it did not matter. I am going to have to look at the link that @BarBaraPrz posted.

That cup is lovely but looks smaller than what you said. I'm still using the cup my sister sent me for Christmas when I was still living in Vancouver (early 90s). It's raining and 3°C, so I'm in a tea-drinking mood, too.

That one is really cute. I have a lot of mugs. I got rid of a bunch years ago, but still have plenty. They usually are filled with memories.

Is this the one from Vancouver? It evokes the winter.

I love tea, coffee and broth in winter and I warm my hands with the mugs. Your mug is beautiful. Years ago, when I still could garden, Dixie gave me a giant mug that said "I garden, therefore I am". I gave Dixie a herbal tea I hadn´t even tried. Much to my surprise, when she gave me some last week, I found it delicious.

I like most herbal tea. Mugs can express so much of our personality.

@GardenGerty I wholly agree with you. I use one on my night table for water. It is a bright orange one I got in Mexico with the Aztec god Qutzacoalt carved in gold. For coffee and tea, my mug has a picture of my granddaughter Carolina and me taken many years ago. And I usually use Dixie´s big one to measure the amount of rice I cook.

I just finished two cups (salted caramel and blueberry), and I’m going to have a third (lemon lift this time) before retiring to bed with a compress for my sinuses.

I am sipping coffee. As I mentioned this morning, It is cool and dreary here. Since then it has started sprinkling. But it's not going to get really cold here.

I would be alarmed if it got really cold there. When we moved to California ( first hubs and I) the teens at the church would talk about it being cold weather and would wear heavy coats and gloves. It was in the 40's, which to me was quite balmy. Our problem, or one of them, with this storm front is that it rained for quite a bit, therefore, under the snow there is ice on the roads.

We have too many medical bills. I just feel more empowered when I am bringing in an outside income. I would not mind finding something to do from home, though.

@Aquitaine24 Yes, I have quite a few pretty mugs that I like. Here is a photo of one of my favourites. It's not particularly 'pretty' I guess but I love the shape and the fact that someone made it by hand.
