Here is a story about a middle aged woman who is at the end of her tether. The story starts on a very hot summer day when Grace is stuck in a traffic jam. She is on her way to the bakery where she is going to pick up a birthday cake for her daughter. Grace is hot, stressed out and fed up with waiting for the traffic to move. So she does a really silly thing, she gets out of her car and walks for the rest of her journey. The rest of the story tells the reader how poor Grace got into such a state and why she is taking a cake to her 16 year old daughter who refuses to live with her.

Have a nice day yourself, do you have anything planned for today? This was a good story with some interesting characters, I could identify with Grace because I know what it is like to be a middle aged woman, and the problems that go with it.

@lazydaizee Thank you very much. Yes, we're going out to the big Tesco again this afternoon. I'm glad you liked the story. I'm a middle aged woman and my problem is I still live with my Mum and step-dad!

@sharonelton Is that such a bad thing ? I have heard that more grown up children live with their parents longer now because they cannot afford to move out. At least you are company for each other and you can share the chores, bills etc.

@lazydaizee Yes, mothers usually put up with a lot and those who put up with a lot suffer the most.

@aninditasen I suppose mothers have to set an example to younger members of the family and show forgiveness and not hold a grudge.

It was sad ,and funny in some places. This is what makes a good story because it brings out all sorts of emotions in the reader. The main character was also able to laugh at herself even though some of the things she did made me cringe. The characters were interesting and there were some bad people in the story too.

It is an interesting story and I think that anyone who knows what it is like to be a middle aged woman with a teenage daughter will sympathise with Grace. Even though she does do some daft things.

It was very sad in places, but very funny in others. I think this is what makes it a good book.

It is a relatable story, especially for middle aged women who can identify with the main character.
