I just love Mario. My handyman.

Mario is Anita´s borther and the man who remodeled my kitchen after last year´s fire. I still owe him part of the money from some plumbing he did after that but I have begged him to charge me and he won´t do it. He told me the last time that after all the money I had transfered to him against his will, I only owed him the materials and he has the tickets somewhere. But he also comes to help me out even when he is working. Yesteday I went to the garden to pick a bay leaf and discovered that the lemon tree was dying from thirst. I could not find any faucets that would open that part of the garden. And Anita left the hose in the floor and I just don´t reach there. So I called Mario. He will come this evening after work on his way home just to help me out. And that is only done out of love. He won´t charge me for it as he did not charge me when he took the giant King size bed upstairs and brought down a smaller one for my bedroom. He even made my bed with his son while I took a nap on one of the living room sofas. I have some ice cream to offer him when he comes. I invited him for lunch but he said he has too much work. No wonder. He works well and he is clean and honest. He did a job for my friend Alejandra some days before Christmas. I went with him to Alejandra´s house the first time and saw the mess she had in her bathroom. Later on she sent me a picture of the "after" look and I could see that she was elated. Do you have a "Mario" in yor life? I´m very happy to have met him.

He's the perfect handyman. We have a maintenance man here, but he only works during working hours.

Mario even came once on a Sunday because I called him because I heard some water running and the meter was running like mad. I expected him to come sometime the next week but he came in half an hour, found the problem, closed the faucet and told me that he´d come with the new materials that were needed the next day.

I would love to have a "Mario" in my life. My husband was a pretty good handyman in the past. Now I do the best I can myself.

@marguicha The father of my Mom worked building houses. He always knew who sent in case of need.

@marguicha - I tend to call not too young people if I need help, those over 45 work a lot better than young people.

It's heartwarming to hear about Mario's selfless acts of kindness. His willingness to help without expecting payment truly reflects genuine care and love. Having someone like Mario in your life is a blessing, and the simple joy of sharing ice cream with him symbolizes the warmth and camaraderie that makes such relationships special.

I must pay him some day. I have transfered some money to his account but as I tell him, he was not good at math at school.

I wish I did. That would be wonderful. We do have a good neighbor that helps when needed.

That man is a jewel! My friend Alejandra is also in love with him. He charged her a very reasonable amount of money for his work and just like he did at my house, used some of the things that were around instead of buying everything new.

That's so nice that he helps you so willingly. People like that are truly worth their weight in gold.

Our housekeeper (my husband's second cousin) does a lot for us; but she usually charges us. She does a lot of things that we just can't do anymore; and we are grateful. Have a good day.

Must be nice having such as him doing work for you. Here they charge you 3x what they should. Funny thought on the name. My grandson's favorite video game is Mario Brothers. He's a plumber.
