Andrea and I received good news last week from our solicitor saying we have a completion date for the house purchase. It has been 6 months since we started buying a house. So we really are thrilled. Last weekend we signed the paperworks and hand delivered it to the solicitor so that we skip the post office.
We also started transferring half of our things to my friend's house which is very proximal to our new home. I think this is a blessing in disguise as my land lady has been quite unreasonable lately. She does not want me to use the dryer but she also doesn't want me to hang my clothes as it is unsightly. I have had enough of her that now we barely talk and it is awkward.

Congratulations! Hope your move goes smoothly and very soon as well. Your landlady sounds more like a fusslady. She should know better, don't give your good energy to her.

These past few weeks have been full of her passive aggressive attacks and I must admit it dampened my cheeriness but after having the good news I feel much better.

This is what I am waiting for. My little revenge for enduring all her bad attitude. She won't find anyone who would pay her same amount me and Andrea pay for a basement. She gets at least 1000 £ from us each month even more really depending on how many days Andre stays.

@LadyDuck Yep. I for one was a bit hesitant when I rented it back when it was 680£ with Andrea staying for free 2 nights a week. I now pat 780£ and Andrea pays 35£ per day on each visits. This raise happened all within a year. Yet she restricts my electric usage like I am not paying enough rent.

Your landlady will regret mistreating you when you finally go. It's good to own a home.

@mildredtabitha Well it appears so. And she wonders why she is single? Her pettiness is why.

@flapiz Maybe she is always like that. Maybe it is part of her character.

Exactly. She has no problem using the dryer. . I think she is just trying to exert her alpha-ness. She fails to recognise that when she rents a house she'd have to share the space too. It is just not money landing on her lap. It comes with some discomfort for her and for me in this scenario.
