Trump Should Sue for Defamation

Speaking of this defamation case between E. Jean Carroll and Donald Trump, it makes me wonder if Trump should sue the Democrat party and the media for defamation? I mean, call me ridiculous for suggesting it. But I think he may have a very strong case. He's been called a misogynist. He's been called a racist. He's been called a criminal. He's been called an insurrectionist. He's been called many, many despicable things. All that were done for one reason and one reason only... As an attempt to defame his character. Granted, maybe he's not bringing a suit for good reason. Maybe the ONLY thing that would make his case less viable in a court is the fact that while all of this defaming was going on... He GAINED in popularity. He GAINED in support. LESS people BELIEVE what is being said about him. And he will WIN the presidency back in 2024. So, there's that.

What is defamation? Lies to defame character. That's what they are doing. Why would his case be any different than E. Jean Carroll's case?

@NJChicaa You are egregiously clutching at straws here. No one actually INVESTIGATED J6 honestly and without bias and so we have no proof of an insurrection. Meanwhile it is now appearing that the FBI may have been involved. We NEED answers before we can simply impose a particular desired truth. Trump was NEVER racist. He hired black people, in fact in one instance pulled a black woman out of crowd and sent her in for an interview. If you look at his black community policies as well, he actually opened the doors wide for blacks to have better opportunity. I could cite what he did, but you can as easily look it up on your own and should have no trouble finding the information. It's as easy to find as all the stuff you find about Republicans while ignoring all the Democrat stuff. What he said about sh!thole countries was also accurate. He has not been PROVEN nor CONVICTED of any criminal activity. He has only been ACCUSED of it. He said nothing different than any other red-blooded male might say to another man in an otherwise private circle. Meanwhile you dismiss the very strong possibility that Joe Biden stole an election. That he potentially used his power while serving as Vice President to financially enrich himself and possibly sold secrets to foreign governments. Joe Biden sniffs womens hair in strange ways and touches them, PUBLICLY in very disturbing ways, and it is quite possible he took showers with his teenage daughter. You also NEVER bring up Hunter, but you sure like to bring up Trump's kids. Why is that, I wonder?

That is a very good idea and I hope Donny listens to you. It only cost him a million dollars the last time he tried something that awesome. Maybe the next one will be another $83 million. He can afford it and as you said, these things only make him more popular. Not that he needs it...The exit polls in New Hampshire said that 37% of Republicans are still solidly behind him. Judge fines Trump and his attorney nearly $1 million for filing 'revenge' lawsuit against Hillary Clinton
A federal judge has fined former President Trump and his attorney nearly $1 million for filing what he deemed to be a frivolous lawsuit against Hillary Clinton.

You are smart enough, at least I think so, to see the sort of tongue in cheek nature of the gist of my post. Maybe not. I could be giving credit to you for your intelligence naively, of course.

@TheHorse Just add it to the list. I am sure there is a dream team of brainstormers doing nothing but dreaming up things to make up about Trump they can go after him with. None of it has to be true of course so long as they can engage the kangaroo courts and get the media's attention.

I think you may have a good point. Every single time someone says something negative about him, his popularity surges, his donations increase, and his poll numbers go up.

@porwest It is quite an amazing feat as well to be sure. I think part of it stems from Americans having a VERY valid question that forms in their minds about all of this. "If you had a guy who knew too much, and could tell too much, and change too much, and expose too much, and could actually hand the government's power back to the PEOPLE, what would you do?" Destroy him. ------------More tongue in cheek nature of the gist? Are you going to buy the Prison Series NFT's?

@porwest "If you had a guy who knew too much, and could tell too much, and change too much, and expose too much, and could actually hand the government's power back to the PEOPLE, what would you do?" Destroy him. ----What if you had a convicted rapist, thief and conman who faked his way into the White House and then used his power to enrich himself at the expense of everyone else? Destroy him. Which is exactly what we're in the process of doing.

Why would a man try to defame his own character? Guilt? "As an attempt to defame his character."

If you are suggesting that Trump is guilty of anything, think again. He would only be guilty of being Trump and potentially beating Biden in the next general. THAT'S his biggest fault.

It's crazy how much money he has to pay in this defamation trial. Hubby said he is going to file an appeal. Is that true? They think they can tear Trump down but it never works. And yet they keep on trying... instead of focusing on more important things.

@porwest now hypothetically, let’s say Trump ends up not becoming president this time around can he run again in 2028 and 2032, etc? Or is there a limit to how many times he can run?

I think his legal team will certainly be going after an appeal. I would think they would have to. The award is simply too ridiculous to take seriously in any civilized court. But I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Nowadays it's anyone's guess because nothing makes sense anymore. As for their attempts to take down Trump, it has never worked, has seriously backfired, and all I can say to those who try to do it is...good luck with that. lol

$86 million ( most of it to the lawyers I guess) its quite a lot for a pinched bottom in the broom cupboard but thats America folks! I do think her legal team suckered him into the stupid comments he was always going to make after the first trial, the real earner for some woman no one has heard of.

A jury found him guilty of raping her and then defaming her and she won $5 million. He never stopped defaming her. She sued again and the second jury gave her $83 million. Why do so many people think that he's the victim here? The media really does seem to be on his side.

@porwest I think we should get Trump's email and text him to sue them for defamation. Maybe he made mistakes in the past but it doesn't mean he shouldn't be given another chance.

I think he has many less enemies than the media wants us to believe, and it is showing in his polling numbers. Granted, polls are not a great, reliable source of information, but it is still interesting to see what the polls are showing. Americans seem to be paying quite a bit more attention to what's happening and seem less inclined to believe what the media and the Democrats are saying about him, which I think is a good thing.
