Good morning for the fourth day in a row.

It's a little after ten thirty in the morning and all morning chores are done. All meds (including mine) are given and George is happily sitting on our front porch. Ot is due to arrive in about an hour, anywhere from eleven to noon. So, while George did give me a bit of a fuss giving his morning tube feed, he ulitmentally let me do it knowing that we had company. Tomorrow afternoon we have an appoitment out in public, so if anyone calls I'll request they don't come until Wednesday. Which should work out fine, because PT's only scheduled once this week.

I like boring. He's alive. I don't see my caregiver duties as stressful or a buridan I need a " break" from. I do them with joy, because he could not be here. And, I glow with pride when I can say something like 'take your pills' and he can pick up a cup with pills I've crushed for him and take them, himself. Can he pour himself a glass of Pepsi? Hell, yes. Do I do it out of love? Yes. I also desolve some orange smelling powder in it for added neturtion since the vast majority of his neturtion is either peg tube or liquids. I am willing to work with him, for however long it takes, to get him eating solid foods again.

@kaylachan I was moved reading your answer. I remembered 25 years ago when I rubbed my husband´s swollen feet when he was very ill. I wish I could do that now.

@marguicha I am sorry for your loss, but I know he appreciated everything you did for him. One day I know I'll be going through another loss, but I'm thankful it's not today.

Yes, he is. A lot more quickly than we thought.

@LadyDuck Staying in a restricted controlled environment would do him no good, either. Being home has made a world of difference.

@kaylachan I was sure that coming back home would have helped him.

Best of luck to both of you and it makes me smile when you say George is happily sitting on the porch,

I love to use terms like 'happy' in all its forms. I love a happy husband over a miserable and depressed one.

Until he gains enough weight and is eating enough colories orally to meet what he needs. So, we don't know. He is supposed to see a Netrionist on the 5th, so I'll know a lot more then. No goals were set in stone, yet. Other than I need to give four tube feeds a day.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you at times. So nice to have him home though.
