An interesting jigsaw and we now have ceiling fans

We had workmen arrive a few days ago and they put fans in four of our rooms – two bedrooms, the office and the lounge. We have air-conditioning but sometimes a fan would be enough to cool us down enough. The one in our bedroom has been very handy when we have a hot night. The solar power runs our air-conditioning but of course there is no solar power once the sun goes down. The men finished soon after lunch and since then we haven’t turned the A/C on much at all. However, we have it on at the moment as it’s currently 40oC and expected to reach 41oC. The photo is of a jigsaw four of us completed while we were staying with friends. It shows Australia’s own model of car – the Holden.

Very nice jigsaw. I also turn on the fan instead of aircon when the weather is not too hot.

We never installed any Air Conditioners as we have cross ventilation coming from 31 windows. Yes we have fans. You are feeding your brain I notice solving those puzzles

Cross ventilation would be ideal. It's not good to have to rely on electricity for everything.

I have ceiling fans but rarely turn them on. I have a portable fan in my bedroom that I use instead of the ceiling fan. I can direct it at me, which works better to cool me down at night. Quieter, too.

The ceiling fan in our previous house was noisy but the ones here are silent. Vince doesn't like the air blowing directly on him. I couldn't care as long as I'm cool.

We do not have air conditioning. We have cross ventilation in the bedroom, we use fans during the hottest days of summer in the room where we work. This puzzle looks difficult. Did you arrive to finish the hedgehog?

@JudyEv I understand very well your feelings and with the hot temperature it sounds even more difficult.

For 40C, I think I'd need more than air conditioning!

It was 43C at my sister's two days ago and the power was off. I told her to sit with her feet in a basin of water. I'm not sure if she did or not. lol

Oh !The temperature hits 41º C there now ! Here it is -1º C today. Now you have the best of both worlds without worrying about how to cool you down in cloudy days.

We don't have very many days that get to these high temperatures. -1º C sounds very chilly to me.

We get a few of these really hot days each summer. Tomorrow is supposed to be really hot too. It makes us glad that we're retired and don't have to go out in the heat.

Tomorrow will be similar but then it will cool down a little for a week or so. Such weather makes us very pleased that we've retired.

Heh. Holden still exists? Now I can win at Trivial Pursuit. They DO make cars in Australia.

Sorry but you'd lose. They don't make Holdens any more which is a great shame. Just another product that we have to rely on other countries to supply.

It's expensive to run the A/C all day every day so the fans will certainly help in that respect.

We love our ceiling fans. Sometimes I will even get hot in the winter time; and I will turn it on. Hubs likes to keep the heat set pretty high. That's a cool puzzle. Have a good day.

Ceiling fans can make as much as 15 F. We used to go to car shows and at least once we attended one that had a Holden.

Thanks. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be although it did take four of us several days to get it finished.
