In a tunnel

As we were driving back from Wichita last night we went the more "scenic" non interstate route. The traffic is easier to deal with. We had intermittent fog all the way home. I was driving and it seemed to take forever. At one point Bob commented that it felt like we were driving in a tunnel. Although the weather is moderate, I noticed that the bridges and overpasses had been treated with a brine solution. There is no snow in the immediate forecast. It seems we have had more fog this year than any time in the past. How about you? Do you like driving in the fog? I was not feeling well before we went to Wichita last night. Today I have a stomach virus. I wore a mask the whole time we were inside the ER facility last night because I knew I was not well. I am going to call in sick for tomorrow as well.

I don't like driving in fog. You worry about running into someone who has stopped or about someone about to run into you because you've slowed down somewhat.

Exactly. And these silly people would fly past at maximum speed in the clear spots, then suddenly you see their brake lights as they hit a bad patch of fog.

I hated driving in fog. We lived in the country with dirt roads with no lines or markers. I had to follow the tree line but hope I don't go too far over and get in trouble.

@akalinus That would be especially worrying.

Prayers that you feel better and that the virus will quickly pass. It is wise to call in sick when you know you are not well.

I am one who will drive myself to work even when unwell, but this stomach issue is going around and I do not want to cause anyone else problems.

@GardenGerty It must be uncomfortable to drive with a stomach issue where you are quite sure what will happen next. I wish you luck with it.

@akalinus The evening I had to drive in the fog was before I had full onset. I had chills and body aches, but hubby had to go to the ER and had to have a driver coming back.

It has been a while I have had an encounter with fog. It always make me nervous. Hopefully, that stomach bug you have goes away soon, and Bob doesn’t get it either.

I felt like if I would go over the white line on the right I would "fall off" into a ditch. That is not true, but it was an optical illusion.

We've had a lot of fog but not more than we usually have. Be good to your tum-tum.

I am trying to take it easy. Have to eat something for the blood sugar, but need it to not go through me too fast.

It could well be God's way of telling me to slow down a bit.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I don't think we've had any more fog than usual. However, I do like it when its bright out.

I am not going to go out today at all. It is a decent temp, though but it is still overcast.

I don't mind fog. But it can be disconcerting, especially if you don't know the area you are in

I do okay going to and from work, but this was in the dark in areas we do not often drive.

We've had a lot of fog since the new year began. No, I do not like driving in it at all. Hope that you are feeling better now.
