A female who is a resident of Fontana California needed to be rescued by the San Bernardino firefighters on Thursday morning when she stepped on a sinkhole that was an old septic tank. The female who was not named fell down 25 feet was still awake when the firefighters answered the emergency call from either an eyewitness or herself. The San Bernandino County Fire Department's Urban and Search and Rescue team to assist the firefighters to work together to use a pulley system as a firefighter used a rope to go down into the hole and rescue the female who safely taken to the surface safely. The female was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be taken care of for her injuries to her lower body from the fall down the hole. Hopefully the female will make a full recovery from her injuries suffered in the accident. Link is firehouse.com/rescue/technic...

@Deepizzaguy .........Those sinkholes come on suddenly so they probably just haven't had time to put up a sign.

A great deed by the firefighters. Was that sinkhole on a road or somewhere else? I hope that the female gets well and in fine shape fast.

Septic tanks in my opinion are scary to fall into.

That's quite a distance to fall and it probably had a cement base. I hope she recovers fully.

Perhaps, if there was still mushy muck in the tank it might have broken her fall, but if it was too much muck, she might have sunk deep into it, and drowned in it too. A nasty rescue to make, and perhaps they used their hoses to hose each other off of the slime/sludge on them after that too.
