17 February - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from chilly Green Bay, Wisconsin. The computer shows 27 F. Our high for today. It's windy out there. The weatherman said it would gust to 35 mph today. It looks and sounds like it too. I have much to be thankful for today as usual. A day without blessings is a day without hope. I'm thankful for another good night's sleep. Two days in a row without a morning headache or a bloody nose is wonderful. I know it's because it's dry in here. I got the laundry done when I got up and ran the dishwasher. I'm thankful I got all my steps this morning while walking the hallways and when I got back to the apartment. I met the man who lost his wife. He's such a wonderful man, and a talker. Still, he's easy to listen to, and he needs an ear once in a while. He's going through a rough patch with the recent loss of his wife. I'm thankful I also got steps with the foot cycle while I watched a TV episode. I've noticed the more I work on the foot cycle, the easier it is to work on the bike during exercise class. I'm thankful I remembered to put out Missy this morning. I'm thankful I watched my friend's dog, Sammy, from down the hall. Though Sammy decided he had enough time away from his mama and started barking and whining. So, I called her as she requested I do if he got that way. I'm thankful she brought me bananas when she came to pick up Sammy. I told her to let me know when she was going to the store next, as I needed bananas. I've been out for two days. I'm thankful for the work I did on Wilderness Cry. Two more pages. Writing is slow, tedious work, but so much fun. I'm thankful for the two movies I watched today. I recommend them both. Which might surprise you for the first one. Both were on FreeVee. The first was Substitute. He was a soldier, and substituted for his girlfriend who was a high school teacher. Lots of violence and colorful language, but a very good story. The second was a true story called The Way Home. This one is a Christian movie starring Dean Caine.
